When does the 50% failure rate happen?

I am und eot + 30 days
66 yo at start of tx
vl at start over 200 million
vl at 12 wks 285
vl at 24 wks und
stage 4 compensated

The stats I've read say avg failure rate 50%
Is this 50% of the people who start the tx
or 50% who finish the treatment?

This site greatly helped me get over

Joseph,

Hi
I posted the Warren Zevon link.  Kind of dark but it was such an appropriate song for that time in my life.
I'm assuming you did 48 wks of tx and are UND post 4+ wks?
Hate to be a buzz kill but you had detectable virus at wk 12.  In order to increase the chances of those of us who do not clear at 12 wks and who have advanced liver disease or cirrhosis it is advisable to extend treatment to 72 wks for the best chance of SVR.  I did not clear at 12 wks and have advanced liver disease so I'm on extended tx.
However, given your viral load you responded extremely well to tx and you vl was minimal at 12 wks.  You could of cleared the virus the next day after the PCR was done.
Look for that SVR and your chances look good.
Best to you

If you actually had the test at 30 days post tx and not the results at 30 days post tx then you have a good chance at SVR. The only thing against you is being stage 4 and your age, but the virus usually come back if it is going to within 30 days post tx.

That being said the 50% is start of tx. Right now your chances have shot up to probably 80 or 90%. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
