Thanx for the help...i wonder if too many eggs and too much cheese would rasise BP...i eat 2 eggs everyday and lately ive been eating lots cheese...veggia pizza...im gonna cut back on the eggs and chesse...losing 20 pounds should help too...holidays are over...time to hunker down back to my bird food health diet
Pre-tx mine was always about 130/80. During tx 110/70.
I think water intake also has to do with blood pressure (esp during tx'g), i.e. more water, lower pressure. I understand that if we get dehydrated, pressure will rise (I'm sure there are other reasons however, than just the water - but a tx'g friend with very low BP was saying that she doesn't want to overdo the water because of her very low BP).
My BP has always been extremely low all my life.
While on tx and even now 4 weeks post tx my BP remains at 125/90.
Went from 70-to 90.
Charm
My BP is usually low and has gotten even lower since getting sick before tx and also during tx.
It is related to tx, mine is normally low anyway, now looks like I am dying! Have you ever heard your heart in your ears? That's low pressure, procrit helps.
Also I have noticed when I do not move around a lot, sit up then lay down i hear like a explosion in my head, first time it scared me to death, thought i had a stroke, or something blew up, I sat up looked around, My Rn said it was from the anemia and the blood trying to get to where it needs to go, brain or heart.
This is anemia is not a joke!
Mine went up towards the end of tx. I was on for 6 months. I had to go on 2 blood pressure medicines. Still on them 10 months later.
Actually mine went down very very low while on treatment although I do think it had to do with the anemia somehow.
im thinkn its the BOC ...cause my bp at treating back in 2006 with SOC was ok...im gonna drop 20 lbs and see what happens...i should be just under 200 lbs not almost 220 now....LOL,,,all these acrnyms are gettn otta hand
Forgot to add, my bp did the same thing during cancer chemos. Had severe hemolytic anemia then too. Perhaps the drop in bp is related to the anemia.
My bp went way down. I normally take meds for hypertension but during tx I had to stop them because my blood pressure got so low. Within a month of completing tx I had to resume the blood pressure meds, though at a lower dose than before. My PCP is watching the readings closely because he expects I will eventually have to go back to my pre-tx dose. I was on SOC (48 weeks) with procrit 40,000/wk for 40 weeks beginning week 8. Maybe the trial med is causing this?
