I have no clue about the blood test values, Could anyone please tell if they are good or bad ?

Good luck with your treatment when it starts; keep us posted about your progress!

I don't know anything about the Fibrotest results, but all the other test are perfectly normal. They measure your red blood cells, white blood cells, and the ability of your blood to clot normally. A good baseline to start from!

Thank you, I am going to do biopsy (doc don't fully trust Fibrotest) and afterward tx, definitely I will keep all of you informed.

Although a pre-tx bopsy can be a valuable piece of input when considering what to do, I don't necessarily see the value post treatment - assuming you  gain svr.  Although I haven't talked to my doc about it specifically, knowing him as I do he'd say why?  I'll be alternating between an ultrsound and CT scan every 6 months, I have no intention of a biopsy.  Too much risk and too invasive for a matter of curiosity.  I'd go with the non-invasives that are readily available.

I am still before tx. They don't force me to do biopsy but they clearly recommend to do that before I start tx. It is also because I am after a severe injury (30 years ago) with many scars so that they afraid all non-invasive might not be accurate in my case, also passed a liver resection right lobe at the time of the injury.

Pre-tx, bx would be at the of of my list.  Thought you were already on the nasty stuff.

you should really do a biopsy. you may not have ANY damage from hep c yet in which case you have many years to wait for better tx.  tx now is in the dark ages but getting better each year with dramatic breakthroughs on the near horizon. many people die from old age before hcv ever affects them negatively. be informed and do not rush into anything you do not understand or need. the success rate for geno 1 is only 45% and for geno 2 only 80% now. this is after 48 or 24 weeks of tx that are known to have severe side affects to many although not all. a geno test is also standard to see which type you are and how long to tx. gooooood luck.
