Blood trans, procrit, neupogen, and the importance of keeping up on bloodwork

HI everyone,
Well, it has been a rough ride the  past weeks but I am still hanging in here. I remember when I first started with the treatment and I read about all the meds people were taking, hoping I would not have to. I took notes and researched on the internet and now I am on everything I have read about! Procrit for anemia and had a blood transfusion and neupogen for the low wbc.
What I want to stress is how important it is to keep up on our labs. I have two doctors following me: liver and hematologist. The liver doctor totally missed the low wbc / neutrophil count that I researched and received help from right here on this site!! I called my hematologist and he had me come down that same day to get a shot.
I am on anti nausea med and although I lost a bunch of weight, it has all come back. Oh well. I even started eating red meat which I haven't done in over 20 years! And wow was it yummy. I am totally spoiling myself until this is over in 2months and 3weeks!!!
Hang in there everyone and thanks again for the information and support
Ella

THE B12 WAS NICE...i think it helped alittle...i just started the folic acid...i'll let ya know...and the dr doubled my hypothiroid meds...he said this would make me feel better...cause numbers went higher recently...the ct scan...caused alot of bathroom use scott, today and yesterday...thought you may want to know...(will have to set up computer in there...my tummy is so yuck...

all the tests are great cause you get to know where you are at...and the insurance pays if you have a reason...but, they are exhausting...in and out of the hospital...

and now i started a new photo class AND found ABANDON KITTENS... this kitten "mommy" thing is a 6 hour a day job (2hours in am, 2 hours at dinnerish, and 2 at bedtime...but, it's very rewarding...if i can handle it...i've done this before....i am contemplating letting the nearby no kill shelter handle this one...will see...I'M ALREADY IN LOVE WITH THEM AND I JUST GOT THEM YESTERDAY...I'M A SUCKER FOR KITTENS...they are SO...absolutely adorable...one calico, one black fuzzy with brown streaks, one all lite orange, and one orange and white spoted...how do i give these up? they are only 2 or 3 days old...

it's a long story how i ended up with them...anyone want to adopt one?....they will be lovers....i will see to that, if i care for them...like my simba and nala...i kept them from the time i did this before...they are very special kitties, and i have had alot of kitties in my day...bottle fed babies are the sweetest....

think about it...no kidding...i'd rather give them to someone i know and can keep in touch with...FUZZY...CUDDLEY...CUTIES!!!!

if i keep them...i'll be a busy momma....for 7-8 weeks!!! then they will be ready for adoption...let me know...:O)  no pressure here...just thought i'd ask you guys first...delivery service could be arranged...within reason...:O)                       I'M IN ILLINOIS...USA...OF COURSE...OF COURSE IF ANYONE IS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY I'L COME IF YOU PAY FOR THE FLIGHT,I LOVE AN ADVENTURE!!!...THIS IS GETTING REALLY SILLY NOW...

FREE TO A GOOD HOME...THE KITTYS NOT ME...

luv ya guys, sandi

Hey, girlie.....glad to see you.  I know what you mean about the boobies...I am certainly not large in that department, but they always got in the way when doing my abdomen shots (could not do legs....bruising....and it hurt)  Anemia...me too....and also on the boarder so no Procit...but I did not get the "energy boosting shot"...I heard that really helps...how did it work for you?   My anemia knocks me down after very little activity.  I was used to exercise (weights, kickboxing, pilates, jogging, fun biking, aerobics, yoga and isometrics)...anyway, the thought tires me out now.  I cannot even sing without gasping for air...had to take a break from that... Even though I finished my shots the week before last, I am still fatigued.  I read that a person could really damage their heart if they really overdo the physical activities with little regard to their energy limitations, so I am not going to "head" into my exercise routine too quickly.  I am like you, out of breath and I get a "feeling" around my heart.......from the anemia.   I am better now....but I know that it is: "slow and steady wins the race". I hope you are doing well.  What did your Dr say about your blood levels?  I hope you continue to SVR.....(sending prayers your way)....I forgot what # shot you are on?  Peace and Love

ya,most of the time big boobs are a plus until the ultra sound dr wants to move them "off" your body...ouch!

the test went ok...as well as expected...dr prescribed me a valuim for anxiety because of how bad my first one went with the nurse digging for fifteen min.s trying to get a vain...i was panic stricken...big needle...pumping glow stuff in at fast past...i was freakin...so dr.nice gave me a little blue helper...he's so sweet...SO,i was able to sort of relax...

:o) JUST WANTED TO SAY HI TO EVERYONE....

chevy,honey,cindee,cutieus,audrywald,okie,indi,majneni,rev,

catherine,avenger,ringer,galium,susan,michaelT,jonihs,sujo,
simpleman,ella,all others.......

the list goes soooooo on...so let's just put it this way.... HI EVERYONE!!!!  MISS YA!!!!...

GOD'S BLESSINGS TO ALL....

...thinking about OUR family here...hope to have some time to linger in the next couple days...i really pray and hope everyone is ok....i just needed to say hello...i haven't had time to read though and visit that much lately....but,i love you all...

by the way thanks again for your prayers and well wishes concerning the tests and stuff mentioned below ...as soon as i find out some results...i'll post em....

:O)i do have a little good news....for my first time since finding out i have hcv,in 2002, my alt and ast were in the NORMAL range...yippy....i was so happy i could just burst...cause of my weight i thought they would always be high....

but my ggt (liver number) was way too high...what does that mean??????? dr didn't seem as excited as i was once he saw the ggt...hope that doesn't mean anything horrible...i need some time to look it up...

i'm also quite enemic, but, not low enough to need procrit or eppogin yet...so he gave me a shot of b12 and prescription folic acid...???  anyone here of this tx for anemia and other off blood numbers?...

my bone density scan shows beginning of osteoperosis...but no where near serious yet...so far that's all the tests i got back yet...except of course the high cancer numbers in the blood test...

mri and endoscopy yet to come and heart monitor results and possibly a 30 day chest monitor, just because i said i had some little pains in that area...they are so serious about this heart stuff...and they were such "slight" dull and sharp aches in heart area that only lasted a couple mins and happened only a handful of times since starting tx...

talk to ya all as soon as poss... luv, sandi

we are praying and hoping for the best outcome for you, sandi.

So big boobs and droopy boobs both get in the way of that echocardiogram, I was told to hold the hanging thing while they placed the electrodes.
well, 6 yrs of breastfeeding would do that to you, I guess.
glad you dropped by, I was wondering about you

hi,you guys i just wanted to pop in and tell you i'm thinking about you all and praying for you...i've been non stop busy last few days with hospital testings...right now i leave for hosp to get a ct scan to check for liver cancer...my cancer numbers are up...

PLEASE PRAY it is just from the enlarged liver which can also raise the fetoprotien...THANKS YOU GUYS!!! THEN next is the mri and the endoscopy...i must say the new doc is pulling out all the stops...he's such a funny guy...he said "ya and after this the breast reduction"(cause i was complaining about the big boobs at the ultra sound of my heart, they sort of got in the way) then i said great you can put some of that in my lips....s.w.a.k....love you all, sandi

hope to read up on all soon, hope you are all doing well...no kidding if i can pray for you tonight about anything...let me know...i will check this late tonight....
