congratulations to you 72 wks, you did it. amazing, so nice to hear.
Thank You for response. Congradulations on your SRV I am praying that I too can say that. I was a slow responder wk 10-11 with stage 3 fib. Is that the same as cirrhosis? It was a long haul having done 48wks then 72wks but its behind me now and I am feeling on top of the world health wise! I had forgotten what it felt like to be free from drug induced fog and tiered all the time. I am feeling positive about the outcome and anxious about test results.
Thank you for your response. My 2nd biospy showed I had gone from a stage 1 fib. scarring to stage 3, inflamation had also increased from mild to severe. It was recommened that I start tx. I was a slow responder at 10-11wks. finished 48wks. then showed relasped at 3mos. I started 72wks about 5mos after first round and responed at 6wks. Increased my riba to 1400 for the first 3mos then the 1200 for the remainder. I still wonder what has the virus come back at 3mos or 6mos? Is it that it was never really gone? My next bloodwork is on Feb 11 2011. I aso wondered if there is anything I can be doing to help maintain UND?
Wonderful news!!! You're getting there! Congratulations!!
First of all, congrats on finishing the 72 weeks!! Major accomplishment!!
Like Bill says, many people relapse in the first month, so, hooray for the 6 week UND. Still the next two - a three month and a six month are critical. I don't know your stats - but obviously we don't do 72 weeks on a whim - it's usually the case of being a slow responder and/or having advanced liver disease and we have to sweat it out. My doctor didn't even get too excited at my 3 month post UND because of my cirrhosis (but I was thrilled!) but gave me a thumbs up at my 6 month UND.
Each day we stay clear of the virus is a plus and doing our livers a world of good. That knowledge helped me through those anxious days of waiting for test results. Here's hoping you get a big SVR at your 6 month PCR.
Hi there,
Congratulations for pulling off the long haul! I’m a bit unclear as to the time frame you’re in right now, but if you tested negative for virus at six weeks post treatment, it’s really good news; relapse often occurs before a month passes.
The three month post test correlates very strongly with the six month test; particularly if no cirrhosis or HIV coinfection is present.
A guarded but hearty congratulations,
Bill
