Swollen lymph nodes while on Tx

I am 10 weeks into tx and started noticing a lump in my groin area 2 weeks ago.  I went to my primary care Dr yesterday and she said it is a swollen lymph node.  She wants to do an ultra sounds on TH to see if she can see anything wrong.

I was just wondering if this could be a sx from tx??

well we saw i had a LOT of swollen lymph nodes in my Ultra sound... but they did not see anything wrong.   So i am going to my gynecologist on wednesday and hopefully we can just rule everything out.

Hi, My lymphnodes have and had been swelling for quite a few years, (neck, underarms and groin) even had one biopsied and nothing was there.  The underarm ones usually went away with cephlexin.  I cleared the virus and have much less lymph node swelling but it still happens.  Not saying it shouldn't be checked but in my case it was my body fighting infection according to a few of my doctors, who knows if they are right.  Good Luck

Thanks everyone that makes me feel a little better that it could be from tx.  I could not find much about it online.

I will keep you posted about if we see anything on the US

It scared me too.  I mentioned it to the NP and she just said:  "Oh."  As if she'd never heard of it happening on TX before.  I did a ton of research on it and I did find a Hep C site that listed enlarged lymph nodes as a possible side effect of TX so I stopped worrying about it.  It's not a common side effect but it can be a side effect of tx.  As I said, after I stopped TX, it went away.

My lymph nodes swelled shortly after my hep c diagnosis which was prior to tx.  My guess is they swelled due to the virus infection.

i have it also in my neck each week after injection. It scares me a bit but I assumed it was not abnormal. I hope that is the case.

My lymph nodes started to swell when I was on TX...started around week 24.  First it was in my groin and those faded after a few days and then it was in the back of my neck.  The ones in the back of my neck would enlarge and shrink each week with my shot and continued to do that through the end of my TX and then they returned to normal and have stayed that way.  Because this caused me a lot of anxiety I have paid attention to this subject and I have come across several others who also had enlarged LNs while on TX.  I do, however, agree with your doc that it's best to do the US.  Don't worry.

I was on treatment for 72 weeks but never experienced anything like that. I think your doctor is being wise to check it out - on treatment we assume everything has to do with it but it's not always the case......sometimes we just get infections and stuff so it's best to always check with the doc.
