Many of us have posted links to Hepatitis C web sites they have found helpful. Thought it might be useful to post our favorite Hep C/medical web sites in one place. Here's are some of my favorites:

This link is a very comprensive and well orgainzed directory of hundreds of Hepatitis C articles. For example, if you click on "E" and then go to "EVR" you will say dozens of articles on EVR and related topics.

Projects In Knowledge -- lots of great stuff, including studies, treatment protocols, newsletters, presentations, etc.

sorry, maybe iwas reading someone else hell i get so foggy sometimes don't know if coming or going lol..keep up the spirits and yeah maybe i got lucky with the rash but sure am enjoying at least a little exercise..relaxes the mind thing...thanks

thanks for all the links...did you say you live in pa?? me 2 just wondered what part...summer is heck here anymore..my doc told me okay to be in sun just wear sunblock so i tried and believe it or not my rash got better??? maybe a side effect of sunblock lol ..hang in

Glad your rash is better and you can enjoy the sun. If your sunblock has zinc in it, possibly that's the reason, but I think you're probably just got lucky. Sorry if I gave the impression I lived in PA, but did date a gal from there once but that's a whole other story :)

Here's that "how-to-html" post again if anyone's interested (for obscure reasons cutting&pasting gobbles some of the quoted characters.) To avoid causing copyright violation headaches for MH, inserting a link is preferable to inserting the full text of an article. Also, I believe insertion of images in posts has been abused in the past and is either discouraged or forbidden.

Everything we type into the "post a comment" window actually gets turned into HTML by the medhelp site-management software. HTML is a a way of describing what a web page should look like. Often it's mostly text, but every once in a while there's something called a "tag" that tells the browser to display something unusual. Tags usually have the form "<X> text </X>" where "X" is some tag name.

For example, the "strong" tag is used for bold face emphasis: if you type &lt;strong&gt; emphasize this &lt;/strong&gt; in a post, what people see is <strong> emphasize this </strong>. Similarly, the "em" tag is used for italic font emphasis : if you type &lt;em&gt; emphasize this &lt;/em&gt; what people see is <em> emphasize this </em>.

The tag used to display a link to another web page is named with the letter "a" (for anchor). In the opening part of the anchor tag you insert the URL address.

For example, if you type &lt;a href="http://www.medhelp.org"&gt;this link&lt;/a&gt what people will see is <a href="http://www.medhelp.org">this link</a>.

The tag used to display an image in the midst of your post is named "img". Here you also reference the URL of the image you want to display, however the format of the image tag is a bit different. For example if you type &lt;img src="http://www.medhelp.org/images/logosm.gif"&gt; what people will see is <img src="http://www.medhelp.org/images/logosm.gif">;, the bitmap that appears at the top left of the medhelp screen.

A caution : if the fog is piled thick and deep, which it often is for me, it's easy to stumble while typing the tag opening or closing. Unfortunately, the software that manages this site is not very robust about detecting HTML errors in a post. In particular, if you leave out the closing " while typing in the href="web address" no one else will be able to post to that thread, as I discovered a while back.. Hope this helps. If you want to see what the actual HTML for a web page you're looking at try "View|Frame Source" in Netscape or "View|source" in IE.

and for web search, i find google annoying but like vivisimo.com, the latter clusters your search neatly.

Ha fish, how are ya? The 10.3 hmg put me down but not out. It's hard to work like this fish but somebody gotta pay the bills and 2 teenage kids , theres no layin down. It keeps the constant sx's outta my mind a little too . Took a break from the puter , anemia headaches make it hard to look at the monitor. Lookin forward to next year.

ditto.  I am anxious to see if the extra riba has affected my hbg, I know this has been a bad week.  I know its getting harder, but hang in there, the reason your suffering is not for you, but for them.  Always keep the objective in sight, especially as the breadwinner in the family, they need you healthy, not just this year, but from now on.  Take care, and look over the veterans site, pretty interesting..

I'm anxious too there doctor fish , seems the more anemic we are the better the results . Have youe sx's gotten worse since upping the riba? I remember jim had to do a couple trips to the emergency room from the higher doses . We'll probably both be on procrit before it's all said and done.

Thanks for the links, I knew about a few of them, such as the lab tests and the hcv advocate, which are great sites, but I cant wait to check out the others!!
I am always googling (sp?) I learned alot about the "numbers" and what they are looking for on certain tests.
It's empowering when you understand whats an "okay or acceptable result" from all these tests we go through.
I dont have enough confidence in most docs to give me the answer in laymans terms.
I hope you are doing alright,...I have read you are feeling stronger, and that is so good to hear.
My better half is anxious to start feeling back to his old self, but like I told him, everybody is so different. I have read where some didnt jump back for 6 months, then others felt better right away.

Thanks tracy, same to you. Hope ypur feelin better later, rest girl seems is a must . I have to drag outta bed in the mornin , so I've had to let some chores go and get to bed earlier . What's in the box above is eactly what you want to type/paste in the submit window. Once the code you have submitted is built into the Me Help web page, the members' Internet browsers (i.e. IE) will strip out the gooble-dee-gook and make a nice clickable link.

Hey JIm-Thanks for posting all the info sites together. It sure makes it easier. I sure hope everything is looking up for you-what a time you've had. I have been off interferons now for about a mth. Other than having a Colonoscopy last Thurs., I feel so much better. I did not clear and do not intend to try again, but I think the Colon cleansing really helped to rid my body of alot of toxins. I am going to ask about a Liver cleanse when I go back to my Hepatologist on the 7th. Wishing you the best and keep the info coming.
