I don't believe in this odds thing.
Also would have been better if we had four and six week test result.Your age and liver damage ratio are also relevant.
If you insist on a figure to hang your hat on,then your chances are probably a little better than 60%.The reality is 50%-you'll either SVR or you wont.
Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!

Remember - when all is said and done it's a 50/50 thing for geno one. In the end there really is nothing else that can help us figure out our "exact" odds or those of us who knew we would make it would continue on and those who knew we would not would stop.

It would have been better had you had a 4 week test but being neg at 12 weeks is in line so I'd say your chances are as best as you can tell 100% that it will be 50/50.

There just isn't any guarantee of much more (although anyone can guess...).

Sorry - but the good news is you ARE UND now you STAY THAT WAY! :)

I too am a 1b who didn't clear.  Around week 32 it started to rise and discontinued.

The fact that you cleared early is in your favor.  Keep it up!

I am very glad you are undetectable at 12 weeks. I would just keep holding the thought that you are responding very well to the tx and try not to think about the odds thing. You have achieved a milestone and you should pat yourself on the back. I am sure I am in the minority as I was a super responder (pre tx vl 40 mill/stg3/geno 1a) and was undetected at wk4 and remained so until a 4month post pcr showed that it was back. I am a little reluctant talking about this with someone who has just discovered they had the desired undetectable status early on tx. I don't want to bring anyone down. You should relish your status now but when trying to use it as a predictor can in some cases lead to disappointment.

Stay FREE!!!!!!!!!!

My story, 56 years,white male,VL 4.8 million,30years plus infection undetectable 12 weeks,SVR 6 months post Tx Dec. 06.It's a **** shoot but 100% compliance and you've got a good chance.

Citizen Smith mentioned compliance.  As I understand it, the statistics are based on "the 80 percent rule," i.e. 80% of the meds 80% of the time.  So if a person is 100% compliant and takes every pill and every shot every time they should, surely the odds will be higher???

I did 100% of the meds 100% of the time.

I'm so sad about your relapse.  You did everything right, and it's not fair.  But maybe your liver has improved histologically, which would buy you time to wait for the new drugs without excessive worries.  I certainly hope so.  I look forward to hearing updates on your health.  Best wishes for good news.

Thank you for your thoughts! I am doing fine now and yes the year of tx did my liver good. I am well over the disappointment now and ready for the next course of action (I think, lol).
The current treatment provides SVR for so many that in no way would I discourage anyone to not give it there best effort.
Good luck to you!

I am in a very similar situation as you my six month pcr is coming up this month. I was undetectable at 10 weeks post.
Did you have any other test post tx or just the four month.

Thanks

Hey Greg,
Actually after my eot pcr I was not due another pcr until the post6month mark. After three or four weeks off tx I started to feel really good but the few weeks I really started to feel lousy again. I was not sure what was causing it so I requested my 6 month post pcr a couple of months early to see if it was hepC related.

Good luck with your results Greg, you need to represent the larger population of evr's that attain SVR!!!!!!!!!!!!
