Can I please have some assistance?

Hello everyone!

I would like to thank everyone that comes to help in advance! I think the help that is provided on here is a great service, and it really helps people that are worried.

I will keep this short. I made a horrible mistake and tried cocaine for the first time. I shared a bill with someone I didn't know and I have been living with regret ever since. I was worried that I could have put myself at risk for HIV or Hep C, so I decided to get tested. I have read about testing on numerous sites but wanted some opinions from people who know alot about these diseases.

Testing History:

3 months after risk....HIV and Hepatitis C antibody tests were both negative.

19 weeks after risk....HCV RNA PCR Qualitative came back "Not Detected" and HIV antibody was negative.

24 weeks after risk....HCV Quantasure Plus (Serial) <10 Iu/mL.  HCV log 10: Unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained for component test.

Also at 24 weeks, HIV antibody test was negative.

I am sure many of you may have been scared and in my situation before. I do not know alot about window periods and how these diseases work. I simply went and got tested at 3 and 6 months to play it safe. I decided to get PCR testing because I heard it was an accurate way to find out if HCV virus was present.

Am I conclusively HIV and Hepatitis C negative?

Should I re-test? Or can I rest assured that I am ok?

Thanks again!

Regardless of the outcome - and by all indications you don't have to worry so why do you keep obsessing about it. Even if you were positive which you are NOT - you couldn't change it anyway.  Do you think you're the only one that has regrets about stupid stuff they've done it their life?  We all do and we just move on.  People on this forum are dealing with the reality of HAVING this disease -  you have been tested and shown negative and still won't accept it.  Go back to your doctor and present him with your concerns - perhaps he can give you something for anxiety.  Don't keep putting yourself through this.  Retest again in 3 months if you think it's necessary but it would be a waste of time and money unless you indulge in some type of risky behavior again.

There is a fourm with a link on this page where you can ask this question to a doctor.  He's a specialist.  Find it here on the side under Expert Related Fourms...click on the Hepatist C link below that.
Good Luck Man...and chill out.

Thanks Texas! Since you are saying Be Happy I take it that you are implying that I am indeed negative.

However, I am still somewhat nervous. I have never in my life ever acted so irresponsibly! So with that irresponsible behavior and the fear of disease, I have been very nervous and depressed in the last few months.

I wanted to know if anyone could medically explain, why these tests are conclusive? I am not trying to be ungrateful I just wanted to fully understand in a scientific manner.

I sincerely thank anyone in advance for the help....along with Copyman and Texas!
