Yep, yep.... ditto what these folks have said. Yogurt w/ live cultures will ususaly do the trick. Thing is that when we kill bacteria in our system, whatever is doing the slaughter, does NOT differentiate between the good or bad. So putting some 'good' back in our system can usualy restore the balance.
Good Luck!

I started treatment 17 weeks ago and 2 weeks into treatment i got a yeast infection in my throat. The meds lowered my WBC which started it. To compound the problem my PCP thought it was a Bacterial infection and gave me Antibiotics which made it come back worse.
After much trial and error with Drugs from the ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) Dr. that didn't work I finally started eating Yogurt twice a day and this was the only thing that treated it. Within 4 or 5 days I noted an improvement and within 2 weeks it was completely gone.

This was after 2 and 1/2 months of various drugs.

well, I mean, obviously you know that candida is yeast overgrowth, and I'm not certain but I believe that thrush is yeast overgrowth in the mouth, usually in babies or young children, but it possibly could be used to describe the same in older individuals, I'm not certain.

In any event, many many things can cause an overgrowth of yeast.  In fact, it yeast can grow due to nothing being wrong, some people are just more susceptible (sp?)

Any number of other illnesses can help yeast grow out of control.  Diabetes, due to the high sugar, frequently causes yeast infections.  Diseases and illnesses that impair the immune system can cause yeast issues.  Hygeine issues or unseasonably hot weather can cause issues with yeast.  Nutritional issues can cause yeast problems.  Some people on treatment for hep c and on chemo for other illnesses have problems with yeast.  There are many things that can contribute.

Things that can help with systemic yeast are yoghurt with live culture, acidopholus with the same, milk with live acidopholus, prescription yeast anti-fungals (check with your doctor before any of these to make certain they are safe for whatever condition you have or may be treating).
