I just started week 13 on Thursday and started dose reduction this morning. Anxiety much better, that extra 200 mg just seem to put me over the edge.
this is so good to hear....i don't know if i'll ever get back up to 1200 riba...i'm thinking maybe 1000......good luck...billy
Thank you Sandy that makes me feel so much better to know. I do trust my doctor, but it's always good to hear someone else has had the same experience and it's all going to be OK. Have a great day.
i would not want to reduce riba especially in the first 12 weeks. i guess after that it may be more of an option - if needed.
For me reducing riba from 1000 to 800 made a huge difference in how I feel within a day or two. My HGB went to 9.2 and they chose to dose reduce for me as I was at 14 weeks of tx when HGB dropped that low. Doc said they might go up and down, but at 1000 I felt like someone was sitting on my chest, lots of palpitations too. That disappeared with dose reduction. Willbb posted a link to a study on Clinical Options that showed with Tela/Vic dose reductions of riba did not effect SVR. I will try to find it and send to you. Great news on your 12 week UND!
Maybe she was afraid you were going to reduce without the doctors permission. I didn't want to reduce but my doctor seem to think I've reach my gold of undetectable and now it would be safe to reduce. He's only trying it for one month and then I guess he wants to see my labs. He didn't seem to feel safe with the heart racing and anxiety and wants to see if it's the riba, thyroid, or anemia, which I don't think is bad 10.4 to 10.8 it runs low even with procrit. I just felt so awful this week after coming off incivek and still do. I guess if he can get me feeling better without risking SVR I'll give it a try. It seemed for me the incivek was calming the riba down. Riba seems strong for me. How strange it is how we react so differently to all the meds. I've been in a cloud since stopping the incivek. Hope it gets better.
congratulations....keep up the good work ! und results certainly must help to get through all of this stuff.
i am similiar height and weight as you and am taking 1000 mg riba a day. my doctor originally wanted me to take 800 mg, but we agreed on the 1000 mg. my riba prescription is the ribaspere which is two tables: 600 tab mg in am and 400 mg tab in pm. i asked RN to renew my presciption as 200 mg ribavirin tablets in case i had to reduce....but she said i can't reduce riba - how do you like that? last time i tx with soc, my hgb went low, so it is expected i will have to do procrit while doing triple tx.
hope you have a good day....be well. ginger
I'm 12 week undetectable. Wow I am all confused coming off of this incivek. This has been one difficult week. I guess the medicine really did it's job.
Try not to worry about the RIBA for now. Revel in your 12 weeks UND!! Rest and feel better.
Getting nervous about the riba dose reduction for a month. I'm 106lbs at about 5feet 5 inches tall. Wonder what would 800 mg be sufficient? I'm now on 1000 mg riba
Hi, Congrats on the 12 week UND. This is great news. Have a restful weekend and try to relax.
