Confusion about Harvoni approval and OptumRX

I was approved for coverage of Harvoni through 12/31/15. I was planning to start treatment the beginning of Jan. as I wait to get help with the copay. Will the Express Scripts decision to not cover Harvoni affect me if I wait until Jan when my copay will reset for the year? Is that preapproval written in stone?
I am hearing about Express Scripts and CVS but have not heard anything about my United Health PBM which is OptumRX. It seems that if Express Scripts excludes Harvoni the other PBM will follow.
I thought I was set to go until I heard about this ES news. Getting through to these people by phone is a chore.

Thanks for advice guys. I will not receive 1st month until Jan after copay help goes through. Rbeth did you have a super high copay from Optum? Yes the spec pharmacy was supposed to request assistance but never did, after weeks of waiting my Docs office complained and got immediate results. Upset1234 as far as I know CVS still covers Harvoni.

Hi there, I may be wrong but I think this is more of a deal made with the drug company vs a decision.  They have an agreement to get the drug at a cheaper price in January.  It is possible other PBM's will follow suit but there is no way to know that right now.
If I were you I would continue on as planned and start the Harvoni.

Hi,
United HC is my part D coverage w/Optum Rx doing shipping through my pharma in phila. They ship to me in Fl. I was approved harvoni & it shipped on nov 7th to me. I couldn't start till Dec 1 because I was sick. 2nd bottle is arriving tomorrow. It seems if you're approved, ( or taking) there is no stoppage.

Also, though of course the question of the hour, if UHC(Optum) was going to follow express scripts AND I have not read or heard that they are.

Have you received your first month of Harvoni yet, if you're starting beginning of January? I'm not quite sure if I understand, approved, start beg Jan, and waiting for co pay.... Has your pharma( did not think CVS did this, only sp pharma) requested assistance for you from patients assistance network?

Anyway, if your approved, ducks in proverbial row, I would not be concerned about united & not getting it... I'm assuming UHC has most of it covered. I'd call doc or pharma being used to find out, if you have not yet rec'd med. If you have rec'd, well I'd sure start now.

Keep posted
Best
