Cryoglobulin is 0 ??

I was recently went to a hepatologist and was given a slew of blood tests....
I was told that my Cryoglobulin is 0 and that it was because of the Hep C
I was on vacation when I got the results, so didn't ask what that meant...can anyone help me with this please???

I am getting retested next week, before my liver biopsy...

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me...

Well now I'm really confused...I had the retest done yesterday, I didn't see this post until now...
they did not warm the tube they put the blood in...sooooooooo...I'm going to imagine they didn't know what they were doing in that lab...it's the first time I went there since my insurance don't take Quest anymore!
I think I'm going to call them on Monday and see what they have to say about that...
Thanks so much, I will let you know what happens...

BTW...I couldn't sign in with my nickname and password, so I signed up with a new one...

I'm going for my biopsy Feb 15th and will know more about where I'm going at that time!!!

If you go ahead and have the cryo rechecked, make sure they know what they are doing.  The tube must be pre-warmed and as soon as they draw, it must be kept warm for an hour.  Then they do their magic spinning and watch it for a week.  The first part is critical or it will turn out negative.

Let us know how it works out.

Thank you so much, the Drs. assistant that told me this made it seem like it wasn't normal...that's why they are retesting me...I did a search on google and couldn't find out any information then I found this message board...I feel much better, thanks so much...

I'm happy I found this message board...I may have to go on treatment but will know more after my liver biopsy...

Cryoglobulin is an abnormal globulin and 0 is normal.
Nothing to worry about here!
