More excellent suggestions...and let me tell you I learned the hard way this weekend........I am a sun baby...the hotter the sunnier the better...so spent the day out in 29 degree weather (canada ahhaha) did not drink enough and lemme tell you!!! usually i will get a little loopy or something but holy ****....can we say Gong Show Ladies and gentlemen?????Maybe the problem was so used to chugging icy cold brewskies and no longer drink so hmmmmmmmmmm ahhahaha momma always said I had to learn the hard way!!!!

It is funny I have not had any bad sx yet so I think I am in a bit of denial...thinking I am gonna sail through TX....and maybe I will but so had to be proactive when I have never really been sick for the last 15 years...ah well will try try try!!!

lsaldy - you may be able to tolerate the water if it is not cold.  You can actually drink more.

Ive went thru the same thing. I hated water so much it would make me gag to think about drinking it. Get it really cold.. Its the best thing you can drink. Also the Aquafina flavorsplash grape rocks.

Tea was ok but get the decaffeinated and your taste for it wouldnt last long. I had my little fit on here about drinking the water but after the riba taste and smell its the only thing I can even get close to. Just get it ice cold and make sure your thirsty..

Good luck

I hated hated hated drinking water too and I asked the doc and he said all the fluids you drink (and fruits) can count in the "half your body weight in oz. a day in water" however water is totally best for you.

So, I'd take a water bottle and just chug it down. Fast as possible several times a day. It didn't make me like it any more but I did get it done. Eventually you will start to get VERY dehydrated from the meds and you are going to need to try and take in as much as you can.

Also don't forget to start hydrating your SKIN.  Use a very thick lotion several times a day to try and ward off the rash. Try not to take baths and avoid using hot water and it should help.

IT's more than just the inside it's the outside we gotta take care of on treatment too.

Good luck.

I’ve done a fair amount of interferon over the years, and you’ve probably already experienced the worst of what it has to offer. Generally, the anxiety of waiting to begin, along with the side effects of the first injection are really uh… exaggerated :o). Hopefully, the rest of the journey is a little more tolerable.

Be well,

Bill

You can make your own sodas by using plain seltzer water and a bit of fruit juice (I could not tolerate OJ on tx but did great with cranberry, pomegranate), then add some sweetener (I use Stevia drops) and ice.  It is refreshing and tasty.  Squeezing some lemon or lime into it adds some Vit C and flavor as well.  Sometimes I'd mix some gingerale with fruit juice, water, and sweetener if needed.  Gingerale, cranberry, and lime makes a virgin cocktail, darn, what's it called?

Herbal teas may be good also, though I could no longer tolerate my favorite ginger tea while I was on tx.  I'd make a pitcher of fresh mint tea then sweeten it as desired.

Best wishes to you, go get that virus!!!

How about some gatorade or pedialyte, also sugar free drink mixes or natural fruit juice mixed with water as Kim mentioned. Even ice pops will keep you hydrated. Caffeine free tea would work also you could mix juice and tea together. How about iced caffeine free tea. White grape juice is supposed to be easier on the tummy than any other juice. I hope that helps.

I am new to this stuff, as I am at week 13. I have tried to push fluids as much as possible. I can't tolerate plain water either. I mix a little fruit juice of some kind, with my water, about 20 % juice. I mix that up with decaf tea, or vitamin waters. I think, in general, you should stay away from any caffeinated drinks, tea, coffee, some soda. These fluids actually cause you to lose more fluid, then you take in.
