Liver Bx today

Hello,
My husband had his liver biopsy today. While at the hospital I ask for a copy of his lab work. Could some one please put this in prespective for me so that we may be prepared when the results come back?
    Ferritin: 1427.0
    Hep C RNA: 492060 (is this 492,060)??
Thank you so much!

To give you a little more perspective on viral load...anything under 800,000 IU/mL is considered low.  Although a low viral load doesn't guarantee there isn't significant liver damage, it is generally correlated with a greater likihood of achieving a sustained viral response (SVR) from treatment.  I hope the biospy results reveal little or no fibrosis.

Thank you Honey,
Boy, what an emotional roller coaster ride it has been today.I am glad to hear that this count is a plus. I will let everyone know the results. I have been reading this forum since his alt/ast levels were coming back high & I have learned so much. Thanks again!

Falcon,,,,yes you are correct on viral load and that is low so that is a plus.  Ferritin is high but it does happen with hep c and you will know more about that after getting more blood results.  He may have to be tested for hemochromosis,,,I think that is what it is called.  Let us know how the biopsy comes out.
