viral load

Hello again all,
Just finished week 7, all the usual side effects, and looking forward to week 12.

Got my week 4 viral load results, didn't clear, but went from a well over 43,000,000 count before treatment, down to only 31 after 4 weeks.
My worker said i probably would have cleared if i took the test a week later, but due to not having cleared completely after 4 weeks, my treatment will have to go the full 48 weeks.

If i don't clear at week 12, i will have to stop treatment.

My question, have any of you out there had similar numbers after week 4, and how were your viral load results after week 12?

My worker is very positive but of course cannot make definite prediction.

Would appreciate any feedback at all.

My heart goes out to you all, as i know what you're going through.

All the best, and try to stay positive.

Terry

Hi pooh,

Thank you for your response, very encouraging.
I'm ready to go the 48, and my main concern was getting cut off at 12 because of detection, and was wanting to hear from similar situations to get an idea of what to expect at 12.
I know we are all different, but it's still good to hear from those who have been there.
I made a misprint on my first post, it was 4,000,000 not 43,000,000.  :)

Will move forward with a positive attitude, and really appreciated your feedback.

Very happy for you that you have finished with such great results, you must be very relieved.
All the best, and hope you have a wonderful Christmas, you've received your gift early this year.  :)

Hi Terry,

I was on Interferon, Ribavirin, Incivek. I also did not clear at 4 weeks. I was <43 but DET at 4 weeks. I was UND at 8 weeks and stayed UND for 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, and 48. I am still UND at 12 weeks post end of treatment so I have a 99.7% chance at SVR (as does hrsepwrguy).

I did the full 48 weeks, did all doses exactly on time, took the 20 grams of fat religiously, never missed a dose, never dose reduced and it paid off.

Wishing you the best. Keep us posted with your progress.

Hi Terry, I didn't clear the virus at 4 wks either, I was DET <43 at wks 4,5 and 6, I didn't test again until 12 wks and was UND, I did 48 wks and was still UND at 12 wks post tx, I will have my 24 wk PCR in jan.

As far as stopping tx at 12 wks, incivek protocol says you have to be under 1000 IU/ml at wk 12 to continue and UND at wk 24

Have a great day
