go you is right! others will come along that can answer you with more intelligence, just wanted to say 9 months is awesome...as far as insomnia, my dr. has me take my 2nd dose of riba 6-7 hours after the first, putting it around 3 pm so it wears off before bedtime. and there's always sleep meds. lots of people take them, your dr. should prescribe for you if you're having problems. best of luck to you ! tracy
Glad you are clean. That's a big step and reason to be proud. IF you can handle that, tx will be easy. I wouldn't worry about a blood test due to the meds. If it's not normal, you have a reason. Lots of folks use sleep aids. If it's not an issue for your testing, or otherwise, you might look into it. I went pretty far though tx without it. When I got ambien - it made a difference. Only used 2-3 nights a week but I didn't feel like I was always in a sleep deficit.
How in the world could Interferon or Riba cause a false positive on a drug test? While they are DRUGS they do not have any of the components that they are testing for (ie: morphine, pot etc)?
It's not like vitamins can give a false positive or antihistamines or anything.
You will be FINE as long as you haven't been using (which on tx would be a suicidal thought really pretty much).
Ambien helps me tremendously - helps me ease in to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow (I take it at least an hour beforehand). I do wake up during the night a lot but am able to fall right back to sleep on most occassions.
I'd advise asking the doctor. It is a lifesaver getting SLEEP from the dayum Riba.
When you take the teat, remember to list all of the drugs you are currently taking "ALL". Including herbs, teas and remember your last three days of meals, especially if you ate out.
Most drugs on their own will not result in a pos finding but sometimes when drugs are mixed they can result in a false pos. This often happens with herbal supplements, teas, or special spices used at restaurants.
I believe that Ambein may show pos for benzodiazapine's.
Good luck and Gods speed, 9 mths, Great

Congradulations on being clean and sober. That was a very important decision in your life. I made that decision 16 years ago. Know how you feel.
Like someone mentioned earlier in this post, list all medications you are on and you should not have any problems. All, even HERBS okay.
Again, congradulations,
cajun
Congrats on making it 9 months. Is hard but you have already passed the hardest part...making the decision to do so. It is kind of like smoking.... once you kick it you definitly don't want to go back. The older you get the less people do those things anyway.
Awesome. Liked your end comment...9 months today, 'go me.'
That's right, go you, you are gonna be just fine. Gratitude isn't always easty to hold onto or find, but a little while back I happened to be talking to a priest that knew I was in recovery, about basically the same problem. I was struggling cause most days I felt relatively spiritually healthy enough and grateful for everything, and other days, man!, was I off track. One day for no reason I was walking through the day wanting somebody to take a swing at me so I could swing back... The priest actually laughed and said, 'That's great news, at least your struggling, it's apathy and not caring to work through stuff, that can bring us down.'
You have to watch the lack of sleep and fatigue though. I'm not real good at that but at the end of the workday or even in the morning I can feel so overwhelmed from fatigue and can't think of anything except getting some sleep. That's usually when I'm rantin at the kid, ticked at the convienent job, just plain fed up with being sick. Then if I actually 'take' the time to lay down for even a 25-40 minute nap, morning noon, or evening, I'll wake up feeling a little better. So I posted a card above my bed that says, 'Nice mattress, huh, Bozo.' Reminds me of the days I slept on the streets, in train stations, or under bridges, and the feeling that all I wanted was a comfortable place to lay my head. Reminds me how good I got it.
Congratulations, be well,
Don
Thanx for your support peoples. The reason I was worried about the drugs is because I used to have a friend that had HIV, and one of the meds she took made her pop positive for marijuana for some reason. I'm just paranoid, don't mind me.
