Why PRC HCV sometimes Negative and sometimes Positive?

I have a friend who took the blood test in 2002 and show his uric acid (9.0) and rather high liver enzyme (SGPT 69). This prooved him a Hep C carrier. However, his wife, kid also done the check thereafter and find not a hep c carrier. Why?

During 2002 to 2004, he did the boold test 3 times to check if he is a Hep C Carrier. For the HCV PCR test shows 2 out of 3 test results are negative. Why the HCV PCR result sometimes shows positive and sometimes negative? And is he a "real" carrier or a "false" carrier?

What most important is that if he was a Hep C carrier, how this history may affect his liver or health in the future? And if he is a carrier, what kind of food or drinks or anything he need to avoid? Is this similiar to Hep B carrier?

Does he needs to take any medical treatment? His doctor said he may take a medicine to cure (if the 3rd blood test result is positive) and can be fully recovered thereafter. Is this true? I am so worry about his situation. And thank you for all the advice and opinion of doctors, nurses and experts in advance. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.

since they are answering your question on your first post, there is problably no need to answer here.  A note on posting question: you can post another question within your first anytime, a new" post question" is not needed each time and it is best since this forum allows only 6 questions per day. Even if you click on question and don't post, we lose that slot, I learned that recently. GL in your search.

there is an individual sending emails to all in the med help list, soliciting for her class action suit.  She won't disclose if she is seeking anything else than monetary gain.
to me, if they are only seeking money without demanding changes from the drug co., it is a useless suit for the hep community.  she  is out to get "justice" for herself.

Just beware, some of us already got the solicitation
