FOS prebiotic & excess gas / nausea

About 2 weeks ago I started to take a level teaspoonful FOS in the morning with breakfast, and seems to me I've been bothered with excess intestinal gas  and slight nausea in the mornings since then.  I can't be sure it's the FOS though as my diet has been more indulgent over the holidays.  Ofcourse I could just stop taking the FOS and see if the symptoms go away, but I'm wondering if maybe this is a good sign that the 'bad' bacteria are being vanquished, and the symptoms will go away in time if I persevere.  I also take a daily probiotic.  I am 19 weeks post tx meds, still got HCV.

Anbody got experience / knowledge about this?
Thanks,
Dointime.

Cant beliweve that the Tuba practice is losing its appeal. Ah the sounds of Tx, memories
Sounds like FOS to me, might be an idea to get a probiotic as well as the prebiotic.
Pixies advice about taking the Riba in the middle of the meal should also help.

The following comes from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fructooligosaccharide
Side effects
FOS and inulin are fermented by most bacterial species in the intestine, including Klebsiella, E. coli [5] and many Clostridium species which are considered less-friendly bacteria in the gut. These species are mainly responsible for the gas formation (hydrogen and carbon dioxide), which results after ingestion of FOS. Most people can eat 5-10 gram of FOS without discomfort, whereas others already have problems with 1 gram. The estimated optimal dose for adult humans is around 5-10 gram/day
