Hello All,
I had an employer test me for Hep B because of the field and population I work in. On 11/13/07 my results were non-reactive for HBsAG, anti-HBs, and IgM anti-HBC. However, when I had my annual OB/GYN STD Panel on 12/31/07, they said I was reactive for HBsAG but they did not test for antibodies. Since I was non-reactive for antibodies and anitgens I began to receivd the Hep Vaccine.
My questions are:
1. Could there be a false reading?
2. Can one be positive for antigens and antibodies?
3. What is the average incumbation period? The date from the work and doctor test are 6 weeks and 6 days.
I am confused about all the different type of anitgens, acute v. chronic. I have reviewed the symptoms and I don't have any.
FYI - I am going to be retested for the antigen Monday and take it from there.
