How much paracetamol......

Hi all

Hubby had to take paracetamol 2000 mg pet day for 2 days after the shot because of the fever and chills...........The newt 5 days were again tough due to muscular pains so took paracetamol 1000 mg per day......I am afraid this daily intake of paracetamol can harm his liver but without it it's difficult to continue treatment......What u guys do for body aches during treatment.......

Sorry for asking every little thing here as doctors don't cooperate and gives complete detail about anything.........

I think my doctor said a maximum of 1200mg/day for me, but then I have cirrhosis so it might be lower because of that. I think it's always best to err on the side of caution and I would try to use it only during the worst periods and not every day. It is very likely that the aches after injections will subside soon and he won't need anything for aches anymore. Many people only get the aches after the first 2 or 3 injections, so it is likely this will subside before he has had to consume very much paracetamol. Other sx might appear instead, but let us know and we can often offer suggestions to help with them.

My doctor said I could take up to 2000 mg of tylenol per day, not to exceed that amount.
Of course you don't want to take it if you don't have to but while on tx you have to do what you have to do to get through it.
That was my mantra during tx.
Good luck

Yes, 2 grams of paracetamol (acetaminophen in the US) a day is a lot for a sick liver. My doctor gave me paracetamol with codeine, so I took less paracetamol but still got pain relief. What does his doctor say?
