Blood still low

Reduced riba from 1000 per day to 800 per day a week ago due to hct being at 23.5 even though I havd been on procrit for 6 weeks. Had blood done today and hct is down to 21.7 even with riba reduction and still on 60000 per week of procrit.
Doc's office called and told me to stop all meds. Tonite is shot #15 for me. I plan on doing the shot and telling the doc that I will reduce the riba to maybe 400 a day. If I can make it one more week that will be 16, so maybe I will have a chance at SVR.
Any thoughts appreciated.

What is the hemo?

The doctor had to give me twice weekly shots of Epogen to get my hemo up high enough. Then I didn't have to reduce the riba at all.  Once a week just did not work to raise me up at all.

I wonder why the doc can't do that instead? Have you asked him? It's NOT that uncommon...and it sure helped me BIG TIME.

I'm hoping for you to find a solution that doesn't require you to drop anymore meds. I just don't understand why the doc won't be a little more easy with the Procrit when you actually NEED it?

you may discuss this with the dr. i read that lowering the riba that far can bring down you chances of svr drastically. unless you are stage 3 or 4 you may reconsider waiting.
