Ginger and Nausea???

Okay, fellow heppers, I'm going to show my ignorance on this subject.  Got hit pretty hard with nausea this week with shot 9/48.  Does the ginger really work?  Where do I get it?  GCN, healthfood store, grocery store ???  Put it in tea?  Take it in a pill form??
Did my shot on Friday AM, spent all day Saturday in bed due to nausea and headache. Only had nausea twice now but sure I'm ready to remedy that.
Thanks in advance for your very welcome advise and comments.
Hope everyone else had a sx-free weekend.

I started with a viral load of 1.6 Million IU, and I cleard
at week #12. No biopsy was done. I took 120 ml of peg-intron
per 5ml and ribavirin of 1200 (6 tablets every day). I did my
best not to reduce my dose when I had a drop in my wbc.
I asked for neupogen and my doctor prescribed it for me and it
worked fine. The lab failed to determine my genotype but according to the area where I think I got this from I beleive
that I (had) genotype 4. I received my treatment here in
Boston usa with a wonderful young doctor, his name is Brian
Jackibson.
I wish you the best of luck.

e-mail me and I will send it to you. I think my wife has a copy
on her computer at work. If she doesn't i have it in my head.
basically you just use very young and tender ginger roots(that way you do not have to peel them) chop them up to about a quarter inch sized pieces then boil them in distilled water and sweeten to taste. this should give you a fairly thick syrup. Then just add club soda.
My e-mail is ***@****. my name is sam.

Dirac - ALL RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! Your success will be an inspiration to other 4s. Best of everything to you and thanks for all your support.

Indiana, I know what you mean. I feel like I might be lost in the ozone these days but I'm just too loose to care..

Ringading - yeah, while we're on the subject of fast and loose, diarrhea is a continuing problem, at least for some of us. Back in the days when I could still count I was thinking of charting  daily incidents, now I'm just glad to find the bathroom in time. Good days come in under 5, bad days will give you a *lot* of time to think about how to remodel your bathroom. I forgot who suggested this but buying stock in a TP corp is one of those tx-must dos. There are positive aspects : the word URGENTLY will take on a whole new meaning and you'll know the location and condition of every public rest room in a 50 mile radius. In my case, my political outlook has been affected. Santa Cruz has a large homeless population  and most businesses have closed their rest rooms due to drug use and vandalism. I've developed a zero-tolerance outlook: people who vandalize public facilities should  be dunked head-first in the bowl until they come to see the error of their ways. Or maybe just shot on sight if the state budget doesn't allow for rehabilitation. Talk about crimes against humanity! Anyway, gotta GO now..

So the English is buggin you now? Hahahaha You're too ancient to have PMS so I have to assume that it's just left-over Riba still in your system. You were a WILD woman on that stuff at the end of your tx. Hahahaha
Loose and lost seem like they're actually pretty closely related to me. There are all kinds of examples of this.
We have the lost & found...which are just things that got loose from their owners.
Peter Pans Lost Boys...who simply got loose from their parents.
Things are Lost in Translation which is simply english on the Loose.
Lost in Space which are just people who got Loose from orbit.
Loose ends which are just things that people lost and forgot to tie up.
Loose cannons that just have lost their boundries.
Hanging Loose which means that you've Lost any direction.
Loose Lips that have just Lost all control.
Loose change that will soon be Lost by the owners.
And then I also discovered a web site for "Lesbians on the Loose" who I WISH would get Lost.

The way I see it, these words are so closely related as to be almost interchangeable. Lighten Up!! It's good to see that your sides have faded enough for you to be "bugged" by "normal" stuff.
Hahahahahaha

Just gotta tell you that Congratulations is spelled with a "t", not a "d".  Another "niggling" thing that has been irritating for myself and others, too.

Hello, Dirac,
Heartfelt congratulations.  This 3-months-post-tx undetectable is like a diploma you can frame and hang!  Was it a very long three months, waiting to hear this?  Maj Neni

Re Ginger:  Ginger snaps are among the cheapest cookies in my supermarket.  They're small and handy to carry (3-5) with you.
You can buy fresh ginger root at supermarkets, too; it's in a cooler, near stuff like alfalfa sprouts and baby carrots.

I just received the viral load after 3 months of treatment.
I finished 48 weeks of treatment in September and today
the doctor told me that the virus is still undetectable.
I wanted to report this to you because you are now my family.
Thanks for being here and I wish you all the best of luck too.

Ginger ale is also very good for nausea. There's the regular Canada Dry and Schwepps variety. Lately, I've also seem some others at our neighborhood Trader Joes and at some health food stores--one brand even calls itself Ginger Beer--that are very very strong and would be excellent for a bad stomach. Wish I could remember the names. (The label for one is yellow, orange, and green and looks very festive).

There's a company called "the Ginger People" who put out various forms of ginger. You can also use real ginger. Shred some into hot water for tea. It will be very strong but should work very well.

BTW, hope no one is offended but many here keep using the word loose (which means not well fastened) instead of lose (no longer in one's possession, to wander away, fail to use)  So you lose weight and your clothing becomes loose!  Again sorry, but it is one of those niggling irritants ;)

You can buy ginger tea or you might try some candied ginger.  Both available at the health food store year round, and at the grocery at this time of year (the candied variety).  Chamomille tea also is good.  Avoid peppermint tea because, while it can make you feel temporarily better, it increases production of stomach acid.  Good luck!
