working throught the effects of anemia

When I last treated I remember my WBC went down because of the RBV but it never became a problem.  There were several times that I felt weak while doing physical work but it never stopped me, just slowed my work.

Yesterday I was out shoveling horse manure for my garden and noticed how weak I felt.  I took frequesnt breaks and drank lots of water but just the same my normal level of stanmima just wasn't there.  This tx being Prove 3 they are not giving blood results unless way out of wack, which I;ve receveived no news.

My question is am I damaging my self and/or my tx by doing physical work during treatment?

I have a mentally demanding job and on the weekends it just feeles good to garden, run a chain saw, etc.

its rough when you are accustomed to having your energy - and things you recently did, now zap you.  i found even thinking used a lot of energy, a ten minute conversation with a young adult daughter posing many questions of her then current dilemnas, would daunt me.  i would say usually very suddenly, "i can't talk anymore, no more energy to think"...

its worse for those of you tx'g in the summer, please be sure to stay hydrated, i would get a lot of frontal headaches during tx.  i remember NY girl telling others "drink a lot of gaterade", i would suggest that occassionally too, to be sure you have all your "electorlytes" in place.

things do get better after tx. take it week by (weak)

Being out in the sun and heat can be really hard to deal with on treatment.  The Riba can make your skin sun sensitive and the heat can make you dehydrate faster.  Make sure you stay well hydrated and don't stay out in the direct sun for a lengthy period of time...that's my advice for what it's worth.

hey Mike,
i know what you mean about lack of stamina. i feel pretty good normally and sometimes forget i'm even on tx (Peg/riba-19/48). ten, if i am doing anything physical it hits me. like  today, i took my daughter to the park and i just didn't feel like walking around in the  heat. i sure hope it passes post tx. but i don't think it's doing any harm, it just ltes you know when to quit.
