Hello, Everyone.  I haven't been here for awhile.  II just did my 24 week post labs;liver profile normal and am waiting for PCR next week.  Everything was going well.  I was riding my bike an hour a day, eating nutritiously, and then started having lower back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain.
I just got the bad news from my GP yesterday that I have ankylosing spondylitis.  He took xray, and I saw the bone growth at L5 going towards L4; not fused at this point.  My doc tells me there is not much to be done; I should keep exercising; that I should take Mobic.  I do not like to take meds.
During tx (which ended March, 2009), I had hypothyroidism, but reluctantly took med for that.  Now that I am off tx, I was able to quit thyroid meds.  In 2007, I had CT of abdomen and pelvis, becuz I had kidney stones.  So, I will get that copy and try to look for any spur at that time (there is no reference in the report to L5 problem).
I am bummed becuz I thought I was doing great, and now this happens.  I AM going to get a second op, but by whom?????  I have read some seek acupuncture, P/T, or a Rhemeutory Arthristis doc.   Does anyone think HCV and/or the treatment is linked to Ankylosis Spondylitis?
All comments are appreciated.  Have a nice weekend

I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Unfortunately I do not know anything about this.

Wishing you all the best for your 24 week PCR. I think we must have stopped tx around the same time. I will do a a 6 months (26 weeks) PCR at the end of this months.

Best wishes,

Marcia
