Gregs first night/day of tx

Greg started his treatment last night. Getting the shot ready to go seemed difficult (although the steps aren't that complicated) I think it was just the anxiety of watching Him put the needle in his stomach.
I couldn't sleep because I kept checking on him.  At midnight he got up to use the bathroom and said he felt sort of disoriented and hot.  At 6:00am he woke up and said he felt very cold and flu like.  Greg stayed in bed all day and just relaxed. He said he didn't have much of an appetite but made himself eat breakfast and a cup of soup for dinner.
Over all it seemed pretty typical of what has happened to many folks on this site.  He just kept saying I'm glad you found that Hep C website because that information made this all so much easier.  (He's never been on the site but he feels like he knows you all since he gets updates! )  He asked me to thank you all and said he will be on to visit as soon as he's up to it.
He's been in bed all day... just tired
He said his eyes sort of hurt/ache and his mouth is really dry... Is this normal?
He's had LOTS of water!

In those early days, the only thing that seemed to help me was guzzling gatorade. It's got a lot of sugar so it should only be used as a stop gap measure, but it sure worked for me.  I think I got the tip from someone here.

Cool, thanks Jam, I will let him know.  He actually likes Gatorade.
He's been so thirsty and really putting away the water.  :)  Which is good I guess!

your hubby is lucky to have a person like yourself by his side.

sounds like the first night i took my shot all of the same side effects, and your comment about fluids is very true to form for all of us.  you might think about diet change too, eating fried foods, spicy, and particularly fatty foods have an effect while on tx.  a nutrituanist should be helpful on that front.  if your hubby starts getting naseua my doc presgribed promethazine hcl 25mg both orally and suppositories too and it was a god send for sure.  the biggest thing for me was getting dehydrated to the point of getting fluids pumped into me.

tell your hubby we are all pulling for him to make it to the end of tx, i can say for me the further in to tx the side effects were either non exsisten or were tolerable.

let us know how you all are doing my prayers are with you and your hubby.

Merry Christmas
