sorry, my question was different
i had an exposure 11 weeks ago
my "HCV ANTIBODY" test is non-reactive, but somebody told me this test is not reliable enough and you must test for "PCR RNA QUANTITATIVE" and "PCR GENUTYPE" to be sure that you are not infected to HCV.
I heard that these 2 tests are reliable after 2-3 weeks, but i wanted to know are "PCR RNA QUANTITATIVE" and "PCR GENUTYPE" tests reliable after 11 weeks after exposure?
tnx
Hello, if you had been exposed your tests would have been positive, if you doubt the test you can always re check at 6 months post exposure
That was reliable after 2-3 weeks the earliest you could test. If it is not there later hurray you dont have the virus.
I probably contracted hep C 36 years ago and those tests were positive for me in March this year. If you have the virus they will test positive any time in the future unless and until you eridicated the virus with treatment.
