Anyone else suffered teeth and gum problems?

I finished 48 week treatment about 6 weeks ago and finally went back to the dentist the other day for a check up. I usually go every 6 months but didn't while on treatment. Anyway, she found some really deep pockets in some of my gums and sent me for x-rays, turns out a lot of the bone holding my teeth in has disappered or been depleted, something that is apparently common with any immune suppresent drug, now I have to be extra careful to try and halt the progress of this nasty little thing going further. Has anyone else suffered this sort of problem?

I know what you are going through. My case has been extreme (having no enamel on my teeth may have made it worse) see post below (yet another sx) for my story.

Good luck to you.

I had a similar experience. My first cleaning post tx reported significant new gum problems, including pockets deeper than any I had experienced before.  I'm now about 18-months post and, with the benefit of one scaling plus the same brushing/flossing routine, everything is back to normal. Yet another  "minor" drug side-effect you have to dig your way out of post-tx. For those on tx, you may want to increase the freequency of your Dentist visits to limit the damage : the usual brushing/flossing may not be enough.
