hi chev, hope your time with your family is going well...i bet it is exhausting though...i was surprised by just how much when i went on my family visit over a month ago...

Kitty update: honeypumkin is doing so well...and so is dreamsickle and my other 2 little ones...they have "emerged from the bathroom" on occasion and took over the living room...running arround and just being adorable...my other kitties are being very friendly so that is nice to see...

how do you be mean to a lil pipsqueak???

they are jumping and wrestling alot now too...and the kittens have thier little teeth now and are using them...ouch!!!!!!!!! they seem very proud to have them and thier claws too...they are big into "attack play" now and getting into things...but i don't let them bite me though, cause that will keep up if i don't discourage it...i once read that you should never play rough with a kitty or let them bite or play with your hand...always use a toy for play and they will then never associate your hand with bitting...only with petting and careesing...this encourages nice sweet cuddlers later in life after the torrents of youth has slowed down...

when they bite i just let my hand go limp and genltly settle them down by petting them slowly...this seems to work...i don't mind if they wrestle each other but, not mommy...momma is here to cuddle...

i'm amazed at thier energy...it's so funny...first they race over to me and i still give them a bottle a few times a day as well as wet food...then they have about 15 mins of hypper play then crash wherever they are at...so cute...and sleep soundly for a good long time...then back to the bathroom and later the whole thing repeats...

they are growing so fast now...my Simba was really cute the other day...he spent an hour sitting on a chair watching them eat and play and dangled his arm down to play with them...he really looked like he wanted to join in on the wrestling and tumbling...later he went upstairs and tried to start up a wrestle with his sister who seemed to say no thanks..."grow up"...i think Simba wants to return to his child hood antics inspired by the kittens...so cute...

you're svr is in my prayers... have a happy shot day...so nice you're almost done...yippy!!!

luv ya,sandi

Hi! The joints are aching this week but it's rained a lot so I guess that's why. My husband went to see Dr. Reindollar yesterday and he's going to be doing a clinical trial. He said he wanted him to start "right away". I go in to see him on the 30th. They are not sure now if I have the rhuematoid arthritis or if it just the hep c. My labs said I tested positive for cryoglobulins indicating that my arthritis symptoms may likely be due to the hepatitis C. I don't understand that because when I looked it up it can test positive with either one. I guess I'll just have to ask when I go in.
Anyway, thanks for the concern and I'm really getting excited about you nearing the end. I've been following your progress since you started. I always look for your post.

Great to hear from you again and learn that you are SVR. The only way you'll ever get HCV again is through reinfection; I truly believe it cannot come back "by itself". I hope you get everything sorted out. Depression must be a horrible thing. I am so lucky not have suffered from this, and I am very, very grateful. All the best. Be strong!

Nichi - your story was touching!  I was diagnosed with ADD and OCS prior to treatment, I obsessed about that, researched the net many hrs.  Then I found I had Hep C, so obsessed and ditto with that.  Now I am offa tx for 2 weeks!  Yea, felt good for a few days, felt aches and pains in my joints once again, headaches, brain fog as before, obsessed about that, ditto the net research, and found that Post Polio Sequelae can cause muscle weakness, fatigue, and brain fog also!!  WHATTA co-inky-dink! (coincidence)   So now I have diagnosed myself with that too...But I know what a relief (albeit sick sorta) it can be to put a name/diagnosis to all these weird symptoms that have been plaguing us for years.  I think I should wait a few months before I go running to a specialist and ask "do I have PPS too?"
Anyways, enough blah blah blah about me, my daughter was diagnosed with BiPolar also, and she is on Lamictal and Trileptal...the Zoloft helped her some before but when the bipolar came about, the doc said Zoloft eventually makes it worse, so I am glad you are off that.  I agree with ya about how the docs dont take enough of our history into acct when they put us on these heavy anti Hep C meds.  My PCP is such
an airhead when it comes to medical history, he is way too "write out an Rx and get this person outta my office!"  We have to be our own advocates and be sure to research meds before we get the Rx filled.  He wanted me to take Depakote for migraine prevention...but it can mess with your liver, make you gain weight, and I dont remember what else.  Do I really have migraines?  I dunno, he dropped that label on me, and he was the one that said "everyone gets tired, everyone gets aches and pains"  when I went to him for MONTHS trying to find out what was wrong...lucky for me he DID find the Hep C.  Your story wasnt "wasting space", I enjoyed reading about you!
Indy, good to see you also, as it is to see Chevy, Honey, Cuteus!  I pop by Hot Heps too on occasion.  I am so tired and ready for bed!!  Later pals, Auggie/OHC

I am so glad to hear from you.  You were often in my thoughts last year, esp after your last e-mail to me.  I am thrilled to hear that you cleared and, better yet, are beating off that other monster in your life.  I was lucky to have only the dragon.  "There, but for the grace of God, go I"  You have made my day, no my week!

Way to Go! Your tests look great! That is wonderful for you to be coming to 6 month mark and maintain those numbers! Last night seemed like you were not up to par and I was thinking maybe you are tired from company.  They do know you are on tx...right? It would be so like you for them not to know so you don't worry anyone but I had company,,,houseful about 2nd month of tx and it did take alot of energy out of me.  You definitely need to be stress free so you can finish up your tx without feeling to bad. Take care Lady and can't wait for the virus free Heptimax!! Yeah!

Hot Heps is just a quiet little site that was started by a former Forum mamber. We wanted a place where we could get more "personal" with ourselves. We didn't think that all of the more personal things not realated to Hep were really appropriate to post here. So she started that small site. It is mostly populated by "oldies" like myself. It is nice to be able to post pics and talk about our Dogs and Cats and Kids and stuff. We can answer questions for anyone who needs help, but we do not have the "numbers" that this place does so that info can be limited.
Anyone is welcome.....as long as you're nice.

Hallo!!! Happy Tuesday!!!
Just dropped in to say hello. I frequented this board a LOT last year while I was on tx. I stopped in August 03. 9 months of Peg Intron, type 2b, at 6 month check virus is still at bay.
Yipee!!
I was supposed to do a year which a lot of people didn't understand, me being a 2b, it was unusual.
I had a very aggressive doctor though. ;)
All of my hair is back, my skin is normal and (thank God) I'm drinking caffeine again!! I sorely missed that.
And, I'm eating as much spinach as I want!

I had been having relapse problems with my drug addiction but stayed clean through 9 months of tx then relapsed. (I abused the Sonata!! then the ritalin!  yes...I'm a sick one) so I chose to get off tx. I felt pretty fortunate to be a 2b and cleared the virus 3 months in to tx. I am grateful it's over and have high hopes that I stay clear of the dragon forever, but, it's one day at a time in all areas of my life.
I truly have been blessed and I am grateful.

I've been seeing a neurologist and has diagnosed me Bi Polar II and ADD. Depression has been a lifelong buddy of mine and the Bipolar II thing makes a lot of sense. I finally feel like someone tagged me right. I was on Zoloft through tx but now take Lamictal and Effexor. I had suspisions that the tx brought a lot of this on, but the diagnoses was made by looking at a lot of my history and talking to my family. This Doc is thorough and a recovering cocaine addict himself.

I also still have some neuropathy in my legs and ankles which I feel very sure came upon me during tx. It is slowly getting better. I looked for a long time into any research on long term psychiatric side effects of Peg but found none...so guess I'm just "whacked" and can't blame it on the Peg!! :)

This board was SUCH a help to me while I was awaiting tx and while I was on it. The people here were the best!!
