Had a bunch of labs last week-really high TSH

Last week, I had to go in for more labs because I'm supposed to see my liver doc on Mar. 3rd.  One of the labs I had was the TSH.  Now, mind you with all these treatments, during and post, my TSH has never been affected. I don't know if it's gone haywire now, or if it's a lab error, but my TSH was 27.590 from the labs I had drawn on Tues.  So, they want me to come back in and get the more details thyroid blood work, like T3, T4, etc.  Still waiting on the results from the Fibrospect and they did a viral load (actually, I don't know why, because they know I'm holding off for awhile on retreatment.., I think they just forgot to take it out of the computer).  I have been feeling way more tired, but just assumed it was the post treatment recovery phase.  I'm at 5 mon. post now.  My LFT's aren't that different to how they were at 3 mon. post TX and not the different from before I ever did this last TX, so don't know if the tiredness is TSH related or post treatment lag. Even with the Hep C, I wasn't falling asleep in my recliner at 9 pm..., now ever since post TX it seems, I'm falling asleep in it earlier and earlier and then, I'll wake up around midnight, realize that I did it again and get up and go to the bed, fall back to sleep and sleep until almost normal waking time.  This is definitely different for me because I've always had a big problem with insomnia.  This could always be a fluke on the TSH thing, too.  My tiredness could be depression, or post TX lab.  I'll know more in a few days after the labs.  Susan400

Hi
I have followed your battle with the dragon for 10 years now and in all that time you have dealt with whatever has been thrown at you with strong resolve.

This virus is tougher on some of us than others, maybe its because we can handle it.

Hang in there

That's what I'm doing..., waiting for results, seems like that's all I do anymore, get labs and wait for results....  like my mom likes to say, 'I'm sick of it'..., that's my feeling exactly!  Susan400

Wait till you get your other thyroid blood work done.    That will tell if you really have thyroid issues.   I've had TSH at 26. for over 10 years.  My thyroid levels are in normal range.   TSH blood work alone is not that beneficial in diagnosing thyroid diesease.   You need T3, T4 etc.   I do fall asleep easy but am not tired during the day.

Hope this is helpful
