Help with EOT Labs

I just got my 28 week EOT labs back and I am very happy to say that I was still Undetected at 28 weeks.
I was also really surprised to see these labs:  my HGB had dropped down to 8.9 (meanwhile, since my riba had been reduced, I elt almost back to normal and was riding my bike again, etc...weird)
My platelets had gotten very low also. They had been around 120 pre-tx, and averaged in at 90~95 midway
thru Tx, but were at 66 at 28 wks.  I had noticed increased bruising, by the way.
Now, my Absolute Eosinophils were at zero...yikes, what does this mean??  My (regular) Eosinophils were also at zero, and my Basophils were at One, although my Absolute Basophils were in normal range, at 23.
Can anyone tell me more (in laymens terms) about what Eosinophils do, and why my Tx completely wiped them out?
I got very sick two days before my Tx was over, with a stomach bug, and was wondering if there was a connection, as well.
   Thank you in advance~   Katy

Yeah, yikes, eosonophils protect against parasites. That is exactly what I felt like I had!
I took a liquid probiotic called Rejuvelac, which seemd to help quickly. And now I'm eating garlic, that kills parasites as well. Maybe tommorow, a papaya and include a few seeds....yuck

Congratulations on being UND at week 28. What a relief and such joyous news! You deserve it! Not sure what to make of some of your other numbers like the HGB. I will be watching what others say. The good news is, you have finished with an UND! YEAH!!!!!!

I don't know about Eosinophils but I thought I would include my lab values for comparative purposes.
On my baseline labs (Jan 2012)
EOS is 2 and the reference interval is 0 - 7.
Absolute Eos is 0.1 and the reference interval is 0.0 - 0.4

On my labs dated 23 Aug 2012 both values are exactly the same.

I know you can cut and paste as easily as I can but below is a site that offers a basic explanation in case no one posts an explanation in layman's terms :)

http://www.medfriendly.com/eosinophil.html

An eosinophil is a type of white blood cell present in the blood. White blood cells help protect the body against diseases and fight infections. Eosinophils help protect the body against disease and infections by moving around and eating some types of bacteria, foreign substances, and other cells. They are very helpful in defending the body against parasites. A parasite is any organism that lives in or on another living being, gains an advantage by doing so, but causes disadvantage to the being it is living on.
