Sorry to hear of your relapse; I’ve had that unpleasant experience too.
I think the rule of thumb is if they’re bleeding, see a doc. You don’t mention if you have cirrhosis; there’s a slight chance (<5%) of anal varices if portal hypertension is present… your doctor should know this and take appropriate action if warranted.
They can be miserable, huh? Have you had a colonoscopy recently? Was it telling of any problems?
Bill
You know I don't think my hep. dr. does know. My gastro and he are in the same group. Back before tx I did have a colonscopy. At which time I told my hep dr. I had the polyps and thought he would get the results from my gastro. That's when I found out the pain I have had for years was indeed hemroids. They also found a polyp in my galbladder which they are watching and several in my colon which they removed.
I have had a biopsy which did not show damage. That was in 2006. I have had pain for years and complained to a couple of dr. Nothing was ever detected until the colonoscopy.
So, knowing I had absolutely no pain on tx makes me think it is associated more with the hep c.
Hi Cindy,
I’d still be very tempted to call the doctor, if nothing else to get on record. I had ‘numerous’ internal hemorrhoids per two colonoscopies; they really bothered me on treatment, but have all but disappeared since, and it’s been nearly two years now.
They are literally a pain in the butt, huh :o)?
As long as they’re aware and can monitor…
Bill
Thanks! You got that right, pain in the butt!
I'm calling the dr. now. Don't know why I have never talked to him about it.
