Does anybody knows or heard about camel's milk?

we've been heard from dr's around the mideast countries and also a lot of hep patients testified that camels milk is effective on curing liver illness of any kind. we have'nt try yet but we're a bit curious about it. any way what we gonna loss if we try its just a pure fresh milk from camel no any chemicals in it..

I just read all the other posts now, Whats with all the nay saying?.. ofcourse at the moment the only cure for hep is interferons.. but why be so close minded abt other treatments which might help?.. whats wrong with it?.. if its going to do no good it wont harm you. but anyways there is evidence out there linking camel milk to hep ( i cant attach articles to these posts but please check pubmed)

I always think in Medicine we tend to be so close minded- if its not in kumar and clarke we dont wanna even look into it! but scientists, well someone had to thnk a bit outside the box to develop most of the treatments we have now!! and most of them do come from (or did orignally come from plants and animal products)

anyways i understand here in uk we are very much taught about evidence based medicine and ofcourse thats great, but being a bit open minded wouldnt hurt.

theres a lot of research into camel milk and its benefits in diabetes (just do a pubmed search and you'll see)

the way it works with diabetes is through helping stabilising blood sugars and possibly through increasing insulin sensitivity. So by that principle AND te fact that there is evidence (again do a pubmed search) camel milk has been found to be beneficial in hep B and hep C patients n this is to do with the antibody content of camels milk, with camel milk haveing antibodies which pass into the milkwhich are very similar to human antibodies, but still 10 times smaller and with higher affinities to viruses and bacterias.

Now i have actually used camel milk myself, i was suffering from pco related acne for 7 months! been on antibiotics and diannete and tried everything! nothing worked! i stopped antibiotics because of gut problems, and later started camel milk. i have been drinking it for 2 weeks and woke up a few days ago and no joke but my acne has gone!!!!!! even i cant believe it! i guess it must have helped with my insulin resistance more than i could have imagined! anyways thats just my personal experience.

If you live in the US your lucky u have caml farms and unpasteurised raw camel milk is easy to get. in the UK i had to find a camel farm in holland which exports fresh frozen camel milk to the UK

Good luck.  I hope it works out.  Please make sure that you review any travel/health risks that may be applicable for the region you're traveling.  US State department has a web site for such info.  I work for a large intl corp, travel all over the world. Check for immunization requirements and suggestions, especially those dealing with things like Hep A/B, water-borne risks etc..  If already at risk, you don't want to increase risks.

No, it was pancreatic cancer which, I understand has low survivability rates.  My point was that sometimes people in dire situations, in this case my wife and siblings, reach out for any ray of hope.  Sometimes these rays are gossamer wisps that don't pan out making the situations that much more sad and frustrating.  His Egypt was Mexico and his camel's milk was some sort of root or tree bark.

I saw on TV where Badger milk was suppose to give you many health benefits. The guy that had been drinking the stuff could outrun horses, mate with goats and swim like Flipper. Sometimes I get documentaries mixed up with movies though. Don't drink any badger milk until you here from someone else. I really need something processed (lack of health codes) in the Middle East with low white blood cells. Doctors - use them that is why we pay them. I heard that if I licked a camels butt it would get the taste of my wifes bad cooking out of my mouth.

I understand that camel milk is different from one and two hump camels. The one hump camel is supposed to produce a sweeter milk, while the two hump camel produces a milder milk.

I would imagine that instead of milk in restaurant, you will then have waitresses with camel's milk when they bring your coffee. They will ask you one hump or two?, meaning do you want the sweeter or milder milk in your coffee.

as far as i know, you dnt have to spend that much. what you gonna do if for those interested is to trvel medeast or in egypt bring all lab. result then there's particular place there to stay. dr's & specialist well tell you the length of treatment which is probably a month or two which depend on your result. then during those time they going to give you fresh camels milk as medication, well i dont know exactly whats the procedure. but nxt month we're going to check it out and maybe give it a try. dnt worry i'll keep on posting to keep all of you inform.

where is chuck when you need him? not for the hump issue, but he is living in some forsaken country and was taking this milk and other ethnic products for his health. He was hep c positive, and probably still is. Very charming man and unique in his approach to life after living as some money wiz in the states. Very funny also. anyway, he went for some sort of retreat(chev help me here) and was taking some milk as part of this retreat. I believe it was camel's.
What worries me is that our pursuit for some of these 'natural' remedies is actually endangering and putting some of our fellow species that share this earth, in peril. Some plants that serve as source for some of our supplements are being overharvested, mares are being abused to produce contraceptives, bears are being tortured for their bile(to be used as aphrodisiacs), coral is being  destroyed for the calcium supplements, and all this for things that have not been proven to work or for which there are more humane substitutes.
If we are going to pursuit supplementation for our health, make sure we are not contributing to some vegetation extinction or some animal suffering.  We are getting enough of that  with animal testing for drugs and cosmetics.

This is the first I have heard about camel's milk being effective for liver disease. The cures just keep coming ! Anyway this subject got me to thinking.

In Egypt, HCV is truly an epidemic. I can't recall right now but a sizable portion of their population is infected. I think they are mostly geno 4's. And well, don't they have alot of camel's there ? And how does this square with the milk theory ? (I know, I know, everyone tells me what a skeptic I am ! )

Plus, camels are mean from what I've seen. I can't imagine anyone getting much milk from one. It's gotta be tricky. It would have to be a high paying job.

I can't imagine how much camel's milk would cost shipped refrigerated from the Mideast. That would be the only source once our zoos have been tapped out. And we know it's already gonna be pricey because of the milking logistics mentioned above.

I, for one, do not want anyone in that region of the world holding me hostage to one more thing. What happens if relations should sour ? There could be a camel milk embargo. Talk about disrupting tx.

And how would I know that I was really getting camel's milk ?
If the Chinese find out about this I don't want to even think what the true source could be in their camel milk products..<shudder> Those folks would milk ANYTHING.

long ago i posted about a plant-derived drug- prostratin-the Nat'l cancer institute was testing as potential anti-viral(esp for hiv).....apparently it has some abilitys to flush out 'hiding' viral bugs  and has been used in Samoan traditional medicine to effect against viral hepatitus,in the form of mamosa tree bark tea.....I am not making any claims about this,"another miracle cure" ,but i wonder if anyone else has any knowledge or info on this discovery by Paul Alan Cox-ethnobotanist.........has it been another false lead? proven of little value in AID's trx???? total bust?? i really seem unable to find the resolution to this research.....Anyone Know Anything??figured this was a good place to post,hope i'm not belaboring a' tropical' colloidal silver hype...
