Hep C question

I went for an annual exam for work and I tested poative for HepC. I almost died and was so depressed! A few days later I went to my private doctor and also tested poative. I was then referred to a specialist who did extensive blood work and did biopsies. Everything was was negative but then I was told to get tested again. I skipped the regular rest and went straight to doing the extensive test and was just tested and results were again negative. Spoke with the doctor briefly and he says I need to go every year for the rest if my life. Cold iriginal tests both be a false positive if am I kidding myself? I have a 6 ur old and I'm losing my mind! What does all this mean?? I realized I had more question but the doctor left for the day and won't be back until Wednseday. Has this happened to anyone???

What it seems like is you tested positive for the antibodies only. what this means is at one time you was exposed to the virus but your immune system beat it back. This happens in about 20% of people. You have nothing to worry about as the antibodies won't harm you or anybody else.

Congrats, and enjoy. as for why your doctor wants you to repeat this test every year I'm not sure. I would guess just out of caution.
