Hepatitis & Leukocytes

Hi,

I have been having a low grade fever for a few weeks and had some blood tests done two weeks ago.

My GGT was 35 and my Leukocytes were absolutely normal and she said I did not have an infection.  There was a trace of blood in my urine test so I was then sent for an ultrasound.

When the nurse gave me the results she said they had found a small hemangioma and then mentioned hepatitis and now I am panicking about it.

I am unable to see the doctor until the end of the week.

If I had viral hepatitis would my leukocytes be normal?

Thanks

Hi

I have no other risk factors, I have had not had sex for several years, nor have I taken any non-prescribed drugs at all or needed a blood transfusion or had dialysis.

I am sure that I will be having the relevant blood tests when I see the doctor on Friday, but from here until then is a long enough for my mind to go into overdrive and for me to worry about it.

Do you have a risk factor for hepatitis such as Idu/blood transfusion/dialysis?

Those factors are the primary ways to transmit Hcv.  Sexual activity is much more likely to transmit Hbv.

Be honest with yourself and ask if you have put yourself at risk.  If you have, get tested for hcv and hbv.
