Finished 24 weeks of tx last week, still UND

Hi..  I finished tx last week, and had labs done..  Got the call earlier that I am still UND..  With the exception of anemia, I feel pretty good.  Had my first sick-free Saturday in 24 weeks, and actually ventured out for a bit.  I did not get the flu shot while on tx, and my WBC is pretty low, so it was risky for me to go out.. but, It felt soooo good, even though it was just for a short time.  It was a beautiful day, in the 70's, went to a nice little artsy plaza, ate and came home..

Thanks again to everyone..
@nygirl7 I do need to get the flu shot.. I was hesitant during treatment because I always seem to get a reaction from the shot, ie. getting sick for a few days.

@jules, I pray everyday for a piece of that banana bread!!!

@brianmo, Good luck with your VL test next week.. Please keep us posted on the results.

I love to hear this news!  I get tested next monday for 24 week VL.......my WBC has been very low along with everything else and surprised when the doctor called last Weds and said try to stay out of public places and don't get sick!!  First time she has mentioned that. Anyway, your day out sounds lovely. Especially the sun and food....Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a chronically ill person you are supposed to always get a flu shot now. The flu just got started it hit late this year, I'd get one still. I always get one and then watch others around me drop like flies.......the flu is nothing to sneeze at it's NOT a three day cold it's more 7 - 10 days of absolute torture.

Congratulations to you on your comepletion of treatment and your  success in achieving UND!  You were really lucky not to get the flu without a shot during treatment! Phew!!

Hi,

Congrats on getting through TX!

You might want to ask your doc about getting a flu shot. My doc had me get one during tx so maybe you still can.

Please keep us posted on your results.

Take care,
G

Thank you!!!

Orphanhawk, I guess I'm just concerned since I did not get the flu shot this year and according to the CDC website, the flu has increased in my area.

Marty, please keep me posted on your results. and congratulations for making it through..

Congratulations !!!

I am in the same exact same boat as you. Done with all.
I'm waiting to get my viral load test back. Should be tomorrow. Had to do the labs late in the week due to work schedule.
Never thought I'd be happy about having a work schedule.
However, I am not happy about 2/3 of my hair falling out.

Congrats!!!

My wbc are often low, it doesn't stop me from going out but I'm careful and if someone sneezes, my head is turned while I walk away, instantly .

Thank you!!  beyondmwd, I did the triple therapy with incivek..  It was rough, but I made it..  I forgot to mention that my hair is still falling out, but that is not a big deal as it will grow back.  It is going to be a long 3 months until I get the follow-up test, but keeping positive thoughts that it will remain UND...
