Those side effects are all common. I started TX at 39 million last time. I had to use saline eye drops for my eyes, Boetene mouth wash to help with sores in mouth and dry mouth. And I remember that taste... metallic or something. The haze, as I call it brain fog. Nothing that can be done there. Drink lots and lots of water, also keep some beside your bed so at night you can drink it at night for the throat closing up . I did that too. You just kinda get use to it.
I hope your job is not to taxing on you. But I would go for the 24 weeks if you can. I am geno 2 also. good luck, hang tough you can do this!!  Debi

Yes I am genotype 2b. The sides are bad muscle aches, dry eyes, the haze, fatigue, back aches trying to work. I sit all day when I work and it really hurts your back. My mother had chemo it sounds alot alike. It just makes you feel bad. Bad taste in your mouth. Extremely thirsty all the time. My throat feel like it is closed up when I wake up in the mornings. I will find a way to deal if that is what the doc says, I go back oct 2. I also got an ulcer in my mouth today. What next?????

If you mean that you're 'genotype 2B' then, yes you stand a decent chance of pulling off a sustained response with 16 weeks, if the viral load test done at 4 weeks was a sensitive one. Personally, given your high starting viral load, I'd try to go a little longer, maybe even try for the 24 if you can get your side effects under control. You don't say what sx you're having, but if they can be dealt with in some way, the extra weeks might improve your chances. If you can post what problems you're having, you'll probably find someone who has been there as well and found some way to deal.
Good luck and take care.

Good luck with the decision you face. Most people advise the SOC which is 24 weeks.

I am also genotype 2b on 3rd week of treatment.

what sides are you getting

How did you feel after 4 weeks und, did you feel more energy , did you have any fatigue.

I have dry eyes, muscle aches and I sometimes feel a chemically induced haze
and a little fatigue.

I had viral load of 2900000 when I started, and congrats on your 4 week und, I hope I am
as lucky as you. I took bloodwork yesterday and maybe I'll be lucky at 3 weels

You probably meant that your genotype is 2B. Stage is what the liver biopsy report tells you. Have you had a liver biopsy?

You can find a lot of information about viral load and what the numbers indicate on the janis website, have you looked at the info there yet?
Here's the link to the info on viral load, 6 million something puts you in the high range, not very high.

What does your dr say about stopping early? What kind of test did you have when it showed und? Have you had any other labs for viral load since 4 weeks?

14, I stopped early but it's a risk and it's something you should discuss with your dr.
