From experience, elevated liver enzyme, ultrasound, gall bladder stones. I had both the elevated liver enzymes and the ultrasound found gall stones. My gall bladder was removed. This is my experience, I am not a doctor nor in any way am I suggesting any type of diagnosis. This is only an experience. Continue consulting the doctor. Always follow medical advice and do not depend on the internet. Only an MD should be providing the advice. This is the reason they went to Medical school. They are qualified to provide this advise and I am not.
I already told so many times ... HE DOES NOT DRINK!!!
From what I have read that other people on this site, and from my own experience, this can be the result of too much booze and/or being overweight. I am both, or was...
Thanks for the replays!!!
He does not drink or take any medication. He is not diabetic and he does not drink.
His second blood work indicated that his enzymes still elevated.
The ultrasound show us fat around the liver.
Ahhh ... yeah, He is about 110 pounds over his weight. Too Much!!!
Now the doctor (family doctor) told us that she wants him to come back in 4 or 6 weeks to do the blood work again. If the enzymes still high, she will send him to an especialist.
I am very worried!!!
Now we need to wait and see the next resuts.
I hope everything will be ok!!!
By the way he starts to do diet and exercises. Good!!!
It does sound like fatty liver since you stated he is overweight. Is he a little over the lbs or alot? Also,,drinking could elevate enzymes also..
I read somewhere that elevated liver enzymes may mean scarring on heart wall from heart attack, also I read that drug abuse can cause elevated enzymes..
Fatty liver can cause elevated enzymes. Does he drink? Is he taking medications? Is he diabetic? How often are his enzymes elevated? It could be alot of things including his weight. An ultrasound is a good next step. After that, probably best to gather all the test results and have a consult with a liver specialist who are called hepatologists and are usually found at the larger, teaching hospitals. Good news btw that he doesn't have hepatitis. Not that we don't want you hanging around here or anything. :)

There are no doctors on this forum, but I'd put my money on fatty liver disease. Many people are unaware of the significant impact obesity has on the liver. It's nothing to be taken lightly (no pun intended.
