WOW. From reading this post, I'm hoping to hear lots of EOT12 week, UNDETECTED... I know it's got to be hard when I get to EOT an then waiting 3 mths to find out if treatment. I'm getting excited for everyone getting close to finding out .....good luck everyone
I treated with mono interferon intron -A therapy and a couple of tries with interferon and ribavirin.
My doctor would not let me try telaprevir when it was released as I already had cirrhosis at that point and was a null responder to prior treatment.
Basically my chance of success was about 14% and the chance of decompensating much higher than that.
So I guess first do no harm Hippocratic OathSo hopefully I will find out soon if this Sovladi Olysio stuff does the job
Best to all
Lynn
I was on the triple threat two years ago and relapsed on the second month after quitting at six months.

Evidently the S/O treatment has one other rare side effect. When I started the treatment I was a guy. ;-)
I am 1a, treatment experienced with Victrelis/interferon/Ribavirin. I was on the 48 week regime due to F3/4 status. I never hit undetected...got to VL of 16, and had to stop at week 24 in September 2012. My doctor and I chose the Sovaldi +SOC this go around as my MD was concerned about mutation from the Olysio. One week post treatment today.
Hope it worked...MD appt 8/25. One revolution at a time.
Best wishes to all! :)
I'm 1a and have cirrhosis and am treatment naive. Just got approved for Sovaldi, waiting for Olysio.
Why does it matter if you've done Interferon.
Are all of you 1a's treatment experienced with interferion, ribiviran and telaprevir?
P.S. Also, I believe the undetected status comes much quicker than with Sovaldi and Olysio and you don't have to worry about the Q80 mutation if you are geno 1a. Most of us were undetected by the 3-4 week. It is more pills though. Whatever you choose, I wish you all an easy time and a rapid undetected status.
I was in the Turquoise trial (Abbvie) for cirrhotics. I am 1a and treated for 24 weeks. I am clear after many previous treatment failures and 47 years of infection. There was a 93% SVR rate in us 24 weekers with cirrhosis. That dropped down to 80%+(can't remember exact figure) SVR in 12 week arm. There were no significant side effects at al,l even with ribavirin which I believe may be critical for some cirrhotics.
Nothing against Sovaldi, except the price, just sayin' I love Abbvie!
That is such wonderful news. Congratulations!
Nan
Congratulations!!!! Exciting news and gives hope to all!
Just got back from the lab. CBC, CMP, and VL-PCR 1 week post treatment labs. I am F3/4, G1a. 3rd attempt.. Did Solvaldi/RIBA/ Interferon 12 weeks.
Please let it have worked for me too!!
Waiting for the day when all reach SVR...
Be well and enjoy life!!!
I am starting any day on S/O, just waiting for the meds to get to the docs office and I hope I get rid of this crap too! I am 1A and no cirrhosis as far as I know.
As u can see by the testimonies, there is hope even for gt1a F-4's. Am glad for hoping4cure as she inspires the rest of us. As for me, my labs just came back. Im in the process of typing it up and will post under Twenty-Two Days shortly.
I just received my results today. Drum roll please. I am an F4 G1s and was treated with Sovaldi/Olysio for twelve weeks and am now officially 12 weeks post EOT undetected. Platelets are going up and all numbers are getting better. Can't even begin to believe after some 38 years this thing is gone. Really going to take some time for this to sink in.
Best advise I can give for anyone taking this combo is to exercise and hit the sauna or swim an hour or two after taking your daily dose. It just makes sense that getting your blood pumping the meds through your body might make all the difference in beating this thing.
I cleared on the Abbvie drugs (24 week arm) in the Turquoise trial. Those of us in the 24 week arm had a 93% SVR rate. Side effects were extremely minimal even with ribavirin.
I cleared with S&O. There were others in the group that cleared on the same therapy. Made the six month and going for one year in December. Enzymes are normal but platelets and red are still low. Feel a lot better with a lot less pain. Hoping for a cirrhosis drug next year. Mostly stayed out of the sun but could feel it when the sun was on me.
I just cured as a 1a cirrhotic . The treatment was Olysio , Sovaldi and ribaviron. This is the best cure yet with rates over 80% . The new drugs coming out in October are expected to produce higher rates of cure.
I believe one of the reasons I could take the meds I did off label was because it is the best option for 1a cirrhotics .
I hope I understood your question correctly. There are good treatments now as compared to a year ago.
i just basically asked that same question. so your probably aware of the difficulty of reaching a cure as gt 1a cirrhotic. see Twenty-Two Days by bluemetal and go to my site for the stats on this. not to be discouraged--a gt1b cirrhotic was recently cured and i dont think theres much difference between 1a and 1b.
