liver

i work in a lab and got my blood checked my alt was at 71 and my ast was at 27 what should i do does that mean my liver is damaged

ALT and AST vary a lot and can do so for reasons unrelated to liver function. You got tested for some reason--talk to the person who referred you for the testing about what those results mean and what screening should hapen next. There may be no reason for a biopsy.

agree with Flguy.  you dont need to run out and get a biopsy because of a alt of 71. this could be from many things from drinking alcohol to certain medications and even fatty liver. get further testing before jumping to hepatitis.

Maybe see a doc and get some other diagnostics (blood draws and other labs tests) to rule a lot of possibilities in or out.

Only a liver biopsy will be able to tell you the extent of damage done to your liver.
