Immunue system and Hep C drugs

Do the Hep. C drugs Ribavirin, Savaldi and Peg-interferon compromise the immune system?  I'm halfway through my 12 weeks and I've had a slight fever and runny nose since beginning the drug therapy( I was advised to avoid public conveyances, public bathrooms and public gatherings).  If so, how do they adversely effect my ability to fight viral and bacterial infection?

The interferon lowers the white blood count and the ribavirin lowers the hemoglobin. However, many studies have verified the fact that lowering the white count in interferon patients does not make them more susceptible to illness. If the count is low enough and you get an infection it may make it harder to fight that infection. So bottom line is, wash your hands frequently and try to stay away from sick people, crowds, etc., but don't get crazy about it.

Hi there, I am not a doctor but I think your doctor wants you to avoid crowds as your immune system is ramped up to fight the HCV.
You want to help this by staying away from anyone with a cold or flu.
Every day our body is fighting off germs, virus's bacteria.
That is why washing hands is so important.  It helps your immune system

This is just a simplified explanation.  I am sure others will be a long to help soon
Take Care, Dee
