AutoImmune Hepatitis

My 20 yr old son was just diagnosed with AIH, we are stunned and he is very depressed. He is on prednisone which has added some weight and energy but I hear you cant be on this forever, they are suggesting azathriopine next, not sure what that does for him. Are there any young people out there with this disease that can provide any input I can pass on to my son?

To add to Mike’s suggestion, you can try this site as well:

http://www.autoimmunehepatitis.co.uk/

This was purportedly an excellent site at one time; I understand it has gone through some changes, but worth a try as well to supplement Medhelp’s forum.

Good luck—

There is an autoimmune hepatitis site here at medhelp.com.
Go to the "Forums" page at the top of this page and then to "Hepatitis Autoimmune".
