Labcorp Results - Is it done?

Well gang, I got the results of the Labcorp UltraQual today, effective qualitative good to 2IU/ML and that my friends is NEGATIVE!!!!! I am officially finished with tests, that makes 4 negatives to the one positive and I am considering myself SVR. Since that single positive taken at 6 months post tx, I have had a negative PCR at 6.5 months, a negative Heptimax and now a negative Labcorp UltraQual both done at 7 months post tx.

There is no virus here, nobody home, Virus has left the building!  Returned to Sender!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, you have been great. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.  I am taking the holiday off to get my nervous system back in order.  I am not talking or thinking about tests until next summer.  Right now I am waiting for my testosterone patch to work - you can catch my act on the "Hypergonadism Forum" LOL.

So, so happy for you. What a roller coaster, huh? Not that having this disease isn't enough, you needed the up's and down's of "do I, or don't I?"

I think you can put this question to bed, and move on. Uncertainty has left the building, lights out.

Happy, Happy holidays to you,

Debbe

bug - treated four times but not in a row, first in 1996 on some old Model T interferon for 24 weeks.  Then again in 1998 with Interleukin and some other junk thrown in for I think another 6 months.  Then in 2000 with Interferon and Riba for 30 weeks or so.  Finally in 2006 for 48 weeks.  Obviously they didnt know how to tx this early on.  Glad they do now - sort of.

bb - I was undet at 3 months post tx on a Heptimax - down to 5 copies.  Thought I had it beat.  6 month post tx test came back positive with 66,000 copies.  I used to sneeze out 66,000 copies prior to tx so thought this was kind of weird.  Retested a week later - nothing there.  Looking for a tiebreaker I retested twice about a month later and good to go.  Guess the positive was a false one or perhaps a flare up as dd was saying.

Twas the night before retest and all through the serum not a creature was stirring not even a virion! I heard one exclaim as he rode out of sight "we intended to stay but those drugs are a fright.  Off beagle, off goof, off dd and jimjim - Off friole, off bill, off sf and eisben.  Off nygirl, kalio, cindy and cando. Off bobby, susan, FL and mikesimon.  Off dyce and old dale and cutey and chev.  Off rev and coast too and those posing as them. Off angels, and mommys and fathers and brothers.  Off caretaker wifes and even that one caretaker husband. Get out of our livers and out of our houses.  Let all Medhelp elves be jolly this season for this is the truth and this is the reason -  that in spite of the sides and the tests and the fears, we all had each other, the BEST present this year!

Congratulations on being SVR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I understand you right, that you were positive at your 6 month post PCR and then later came back neg.?
I also was UND until 2 months post tx but then relapsed.  I have not had another PCR done again.  Will probably do it in Jan or Feb.

Let me know if I understood you right.

Thanks Beagle

Congratulations! Indeed, consider yourself SVR but like the rest of us SVRs, of course test at the one and maybe two year post tx mark. You might even want to test at the 9 and 18 month post tx mark as well considering your test history. I threw a test in at the 9 month post-tx mark myself for added peace of mind. And, oh yeah -- lose that weight you said you were going to before all the good news!

All the best,

-- Jim

Fantastic News!!!!!!   Your doctor will be very enlightened by this whole scenario.  You were ready to be dumped in the relapser bin, and left to figure out what to do next!  But, your persistence and knowledge has taken you to where you are now:  Full SVR!!!!   I was pretty certain this was going to be the result, and now you can really go berserk with celebration.  You are done, indeed!!!!  The tests that you took really nail it down, with a loud 'bang'!!!!  Its GONE FOR GOOD.

I am very happy for you.  What a roller coaster ride to have to go through during the holidays.  At least the ride had a super enjoyable ending!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Lyrics by EH Harburg

"Ding-**** the witch is dead
Which old witch? The wicked witch
Ding-**** the wicked witch is dead
Wake up you sleepyhead
Rub your eyes, get out of bed
Wake up the wicked witch is dead
She's gone where the goblins go
Below - below - below
Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out
Ding ****' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low
Let them know the Wicked Witch is dead"

A very merry Christmas to you,

Bill

Wow, songs and everything, like a SVR festival!  Everybody should try this at least once: clear virus early, drag your way through your fourth treatment, stay cleared after treatment for six months - then suddenly be told you have relapsed.  Have your doctor act like she suspected it all the time.  Feel like your world has ended then, suddenly, get another test that shows you are clear.  Try to convince doc that this means something.  Doc says "positive is positive" call me in 3 months sucker.  Test again with same lab that showed relapse on chocolate stained lab report.  Get another negative test but dont trust it because there could be another mistake although lab report shows no food or coffee stains, decide the whole thing is conspiracy and that hepc doesnt exist at all!  Calm down and get another test recommended by guy who invented the test blowing out your lifetime health care coverage for blood testing -- with a resulting negative.

1 Year of Riba and Interferon with water, creams, nausia meds, ADs, co-pays, pain meds, lost wages, popsicles and cookies and internet access for MedHelp forum - $100,000.

Blood testing to confirm that you might have done it for nothing $10,000.

SVR and freedom from all of the above (except MedHelp) - priceless.

Thanks to all of you, you are in my prayers for sure.  Hope you never have to go through this scenario - check your positives twice and your negatives four times and keep your health insurance up to date.  Merry Christmas!
