I went back to the drs. The nurse didn't seem to think it was a Paxil reaction. She said it was more likely the flu (Even though I had no fever). She gave me a Tamiflu script and one for an antibiotic ($150 worth) and sent me on my way. It felt/feels like flu but no fever. I am better today but still weak.
I don't think I will continue with the Paxil. Scared to take another one. I've already missed too much work. Besides I forgot Paxil was the one that gives you brain pops and that is very unpleasant and scary.
I will probably continue in my search for a doctor. Not satisfied with the place I've been going.
I got the MedHelp Newsletter a couple of days ago. Just glimpsed it...but it had a study done on a/d's. and placebo vs. real One of them was paxil...and it seemed to have the same effect on patients as the ones taking placebos....check it out, 'cause I am a bit foggy.
The generic is lorazapam. I suppose they can all be habit forming but I've never had any problem with that with ativan. I just take it as needed.
Does ativan have a generic?...and can it be habit forming?
Does ativan have a generic?
Forgot to add, Ativan is said to be one of the most liver-friendly anti-anxiety drugs.
I never took Paxil, but I take Ativan for anxiety. It really works well and you can take it as needed (or not) unlike the antidepressants where you have to build up to a theraputic level and then stay on the drug.
