Many carriers reject those with any pre-existing conditions and those with serious illnesses. This is also the reason why the government is zealous in reforming the health care system

am i confused or wasn't it you that told everyone not to try and contact you because you were going to work on your personal problems. your post to me makes no sense. lynn
Congts on your recent HEPTIMAX. I beleive you'll do it; you seem to follow the pattern for successful tx. I have one question; it seems that they give you a lot of PCR tests. Is this standard procedure at your hospital? Is it because of your special situation, or are you just able to afford it more regularly and your doc doesn't mind ordering it for you? My ALT went up again; I want another PCR? I plan to insist that my PA have my hepatologist be there for our next appointment to answer a few simple questions that have not been answered since I've been on tx the past 7 months. It's about time, don't you think?
You know. It hurts when you think you can really build a relationship with someone and someone else tries to prevent that; online or not online. I've never done that to anyone. I wonder how it feels to be like that... an aggressor or bully. Feel free to explain that so I can understand how you feel, but anyway.... minneapolis, you are one of a kind. Gee!
i think she was having personal problems, family stuff. i can't remember. lynn
Did she have a sucessful tx? Did she clear?
oops i see she posted on aug 2. couldn't find the other post where she signed off. lynn
minttwist posted a couple weeks ago that she was signing off and not to try and contact her. lynn
No problem. If you want to find out more info, all I did was search for hepatitis c and Insurance or Medical Coverage. There was a lot of stuff out there - the information I gave you was just those bits that I thought most informative...
thanx so much for the help!!

I wonder if they will except me after I clear this virus. Maybe it was a blessing that they turnned me down. It was pretty expensive. Course I can always shop eles where for it. Thanks for the response. Has any one heard from Minttwist (Val)? I don't see her posting and wonder if she moved on.
It's almost like insurance is for the well not the sick.
There is a law, I believe in most states, that says your insurance can't cancel you due to illness but they CAN choose not renew your policy, so that is just like a cancellation, isn't it.
This insurance deal is on my mind constantly. I keep wondering if my insurance is going to NOT renew my policy coming due around April 2004. That is just about the time when I finish my 48 week treatment meds.
What are we suppose to do then after a 'non renewal' with our hepC diagnosis out there for all the insurance companies to see?
I actually didn't look into or didn't have a solid understanding regarding what the diagnosis of hepC can do for health insurance as well as life insurance.
I wish I would have looked into it better.
I AM ON COBRA INSURANCE FROM WORK RIGHT NOW.
IT ENDS SOON AND I MAY LOOK INTO A PROGRAM CALLED REINSURANCE.
IT TAKES OVER AFTER COBRA. BUT IT COSTS MONEY LIKE THEY ALL DO, ONCE U R OUT OF WORK.
THIS ONE I AM LOOKING INTO OFFERS NO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.WELL I THINK LADY SAID AFEW DRUGS. NOT SURE WHAT ONES..DERR...
UGH.....ITS SO HARD SOMETIMES.I AM LOOKING AT THE POLICY THAT I CAN AFFORD.
THERE R OTHERS, FOR 700 A MONTH OR MORE.
YIKES!
BE WELL,
LIZE
I worked for a large insurance company for many years....doesn't surprise me a bit. A good chance to remind everyone to make sure any insurance you have doesn't lapse because there's a good chance you'll be uninsurable if you apply for a new policy or apply for reinstatement if your current policy lapses.
ambush :)
Oh yea. I can't get any insurance but luckily I had plenty before the diagnosis. Mike
