It's WilTel. Been there 4 yrs now. Was at WorldCom for 15 yrs before that. I do automation support for Engineering. I have to make alot of decisions and the TX is beginning to take it toll on the old brain.  Not sure yet how well it will go.  Dr. wants me on Neuprogen but HealthCare says may be another 14 days. Shoot now I have to be real carefule until it get here. Then it's two shots a week for just 2 weeks so its not as bad as I orignally thought it would be. Dial Tones 2U. BBQ tomorrow night.

Hey, Timbo, my doc suggested the flu shot and maybe the pneumo-... shot.  AND he suggests staying out of crowds, washing my hands often, and not kissing too many strangers...

Thanks for the replies, ladies; I was starting to think my question got lost in the shuffle. Guess I'll call the clinic today and see if they have the shots yet.

I do feel like it is going to level out soon.  I noticed the itch is clearing some what.  That Aveeno has been a God send for sure.  It comes in a small tube though!!  I need super grande size to cover all these itchies!!  hehe  But for real, I am hanging in there.  I am really sorry to hear about things for you.  The tube down the throat doesn't sound pleasant. We are going to be ok though, I just know it!!  I will be praying for you more throughout the next couple of weeks.  God is good and faithful to those who love Him.  Stay strong my brother!!

I can just see us at the end of this race...WINNERS!!!  Blessings to you and yours my friend!!

yeah baby,
I glad to hear from you. You are always on my mind.  Yes I will not stop nor will I leave this board while we are all fighting together.  I'm doing my shot tomorrow night at 8PM CST as usual. I will try to get back up on line by Saturday to let you know I'm OK.  I go on the 3rd to see my PA and talk about my troubles and then the 10th for the scope job down the old esophogus. I sure hope I can stay on TX. I am really starting to run down though and I hope to stay at work but I am starting to wonder if I can.  I do have on-line service at home though so I will still stay in touch.  I'm with you tomorrow is BBQ time again. Love and Peace and God is with us.
P.S.
I'm sooooo sorry its ruff on you. I keep praying for things to get better for you. They say we are getting close to leveling out though so lets keep that in mind. I hope you feel like me in that as long as it doesn't get too much worse we will make it.

Okie, I am so sorry to hear that.  At least you don't have to stop tx.  That is the main thing.  But another shot...yuck!!

I had labs done yesterday.  I am waiting to see what is happening.  I couldn't work yesterday.  I was so out of it.  Very tired.  I stayed in bed ALL DAY!!! I really needed that.  I am here today and a little stronger.  It seems like my worse days are the middle of the week as far as strength goes.  Oh well...I can do this!!  I may get down but I will not stay down!!

I am gearing up for the Fridaynite fight!!  hang in there everyone!!

I haven't started tx. yet, but my G.I. said I have to get both flu and pneumonia shots before he'll start tx. One of his many prerequisites.   Best Wishes      Joni

Flu Shot.  I get it every year.  This year my work is having the shots on October 8th.  I'll be standing in line to get mine.  Like you said we don't need to have the flu while on TX.  I'd say get it.

your fellow Alaskan.

Ah, thank you so much!  You are a sweetie too.  I used to drink coffee all morning, pop all afternoon, and BEER beer beeeeeer, all nite long.  But that all stopped last Aug. I just decided I had had enough, and quit the beer.  Oh and I smoked, oh my how I loved my ciggiepoohs!  But no no no more of that either! Quit them in March.  Found out I have HepC in May/June this year. So it was good I had quit my evil ways beforehand to get stronger for tx.  Yes Jim, I was a merry old soul back in the days.  But I am still pretty happy and outgoing, and I do feel some guilt for the horrible things I did to my liver/body in the quest for happiness & fun.  Fun is stupid eh?  haha, well THAT kind sure was!  Anyhow, glad you have a good doc, and amazing you are still working with those kind of lab results, I am going to raise a glass of purified water to you at the Friday Nite BBQ!  You are a trooper!  Hugs   OHC

Thank you,
Yes I have liver damage I did drink/smoke and be merry during my times. I have had a good time. I do have a good GI who cares and is willing to take the steps to keep me going.  I did think things we changing when I couldn't do as much around the place. I'm still at work though and ready for the BBQ Friday nite.  Thank you again and can't wait to hear your results soon. I just know it will be good news the world needs people like you are alot longer.

Awwww that sucks for sure, those are low counts!  Sorry to hear but at least your doc is going to go with the Neupogen and not take you off tx.  That thing you have to get done is an endoscopy, to look for esophogeal varicies I think.  Those are a problem with folks who have liver damage, sort of like varicose veins in the throat/above the stomach area.  I will never forget a young girl, think she was 27, when I first started being an RN, she was in the ICU for esophageal varicies.  She had a history of drinking a lot, and she glowed bronze, her liver was so shot.  She died from it, so sad!!
Well, you are not a drinker, and you lived this long, so dont worry, I didnt mean to bring you down - hope I didnt.  It's just this liver disease is a pretty serious thing, and you need to take care of yourself, cuz nobody can do that for you.  Some folks have very little liver damage, and can postpone tx.  But I was having the brain fog, the joint aches and pains BADLY, and the FATIGUE badly before tx, so I figured why not get treated, I cant feel much worse!  My daughter said "you only have a 50/50 chance of clearing ??!!"  and I said "well yes, but I feel like there are more of us clearing than that! and I am hopeful I will be one of the responders"  That's another reason I want to keep track of the SVRs and the Non's.  My daughter is going to help me make a web page you all can visit.
Maybe there will be a way you can add data...I dont know, but its nice she is computer savvy enough to help me do that.

Thank you those words did make me feel better.  I'm so thankful for this board. I just couldn't bear failure when I have others counting on me.  I'm a telecom guy also. Network/Switch Engineering Support Specialist. I know what you mean with the brain fog and this type of work. I have to do alot of calculations that don't compute. hahahahaha!@!!. Other that the tests I still feel OK. Funny how the body works for you with the right attitude. Thank You again and I hope you have a manageable weekend.

Considering the low wbc's tx causes, what do you guys think about getting a flu shot this year? I sure don't want to get the flu, feel crummy enough already.

Get on Neupogen ... it shot my WBC up to over 8000 and kept me on full dose Pegasys. I take it only once every three weeks.

Another shot? Yeah, it sucks but I'd rather do it myself than get blood drawn at the hospital and have them MISS THE VEIN AND WIGGLE THE NEEDLE AROUND until the hit paydirt. Yuck.

Take care buddy.
