You hit it on the head, it is always back to the basics! A new kind of normal.
Living your life as before, but with differences.
take care from another Deb!
My doc wanted me to take the riba the week afterwards as well (i started them the same day as #1 shot) to complete the 48 weeks. I extended to 72 weeks and so it didn't really matter anymore I'd taken a zillion of those pills already.......... ;)
The riba really won't leave your system for quite some time so I'm not sure it's essentially that crucial if you feel you can't take them but otherwise why not just finish and know you did it all right?
Eventually you will get back to normal - and hopefully this new normal will be with no liver disease right?
Good luck from another Deb

It really looks like a great big Deb thread in here now!
Thanks for taking the time to respond. It is nice to get encourgement.
Patiences has never been my strong suit.
This is such a strange disease. It just is what it is, it seems I have spent so much time looking for answers and always coming back to the basic's. Everyone is different and reacts differently.
I know the 19th of December is not a magical day and as soon as I take my last shot everything in my life will change. Nope not at all..I will still get up go to work and live my life as before, just hope I can do it with a renewed energy and outlook.
I send out love and hope to everyone here and hope that you have a wonderful holiday.
Peace and Blessings to you all.
Congratulations, Gen.2, Completed all 24 weeks, RVR, and been undetected every since. You have the odds in your favor. I think you have about a 90% (or better) chance of reaching SVR.
Now for the down side. Just like everyone reacts different to tx, everyone recovers different. Some people seem to just bounce back into the real world while it takes others awhile to recover. It took me about 6 months to recover. I am not trying to “rain on your parade,” I just want you to be prepared.
The good side is, recovery is sure better than tx.
I hope you bounce right back into the real world, R. Glass
The definition of SVR is virus undetected 6 months after completion of treatment. The 3 month test will be pretty indicative of the the 6 month test. If you were a real antsy kind of person, you could do that initial pcr a month after the last meds and feel pretty comforatable that it would be the same result at 6 months post.
I ended a treatment just before Christmas and it was a great gift. Was feeling somewhat better by then and was able to stay awake until Midnight Christmas Eve. You see, I had some work to do and some cookies to eat.
Thanks.. I really can't wait to feel normal again (not sure what that really is). Yes the waiting will be hard...
You stated the first couple of times, so you have treated more then once. If that is the case bless you. I am not sure I could do it again and my tx was not that bad. Of course I would if I had to.
Just keep the good prayers coming.
Debbie
Congrats! Love hearing that!
A lot pf people do carry on with Riba for a week after, I didn't the first couple of times, this time I will.
Ending all this comes with a huge relief, Waiting is hard, Take each day as it comes, go slow, on one hand you may feel great straightaway, on the other maybe not so much.
Breath deep, enjoy family friends, and carry on.
Best wishes!
Deb
