he had both a liver biopsy and mri done and what they found out was that his liver is functioning at 1/4 percent and that the limph nodes are only at 1/4 functioning. His hands are starting to turn yellow he has a lot of extreme pain in his belly area and his belly is swelling up. And he had hives all over his body. And he had NOT stopped drinking he drinks about 1to 3 beers a day ( which ALOT less than he did 3 years ago.)

Deb,,,has your husband had any labs done and a biopsy on his liver?  One symptom of liver disease is itching but hard to say if your husbands liver is shutting down without more medical answers here,   Has he been sick (nauseated), has he been losing weight,,,does he have jaundice?  There is just so much more here that we need to make even an educated guess and of course there is no drs here,,,,just people sharing their stories.   Oh and the biggest question here,,,,has he stopped drinking?
