My SOVALDI/OLYSIO Treatment Experience!

Hi!  I began my treatment with Sovaldi and Olysio 21 days ago, and I'm doing great.  I have not had ANY side effects, and simply feel normal, or perhaps a bit more clear-headed and energetic.  I had my two week labs done, and the results have absolutely amazed me -- all results (ALT, AST, etc) are within the normal range, and my viral load (formerly 789000) is undetectable!
I so hope that you all can get this or one of the newer treatments coming out this summer.  I was treatment naive, having learned in 2006 that I was hep-c positive, from a blood transfusion I'd received 25 years earlier.  Everyone, please remember, if you had a blood transfusion before 1992, you should be tested for Hepatitis!  I'm very lucky to have a top doc and great insurance.

Hi Rikeer -- Also taking Sov/Oly.  In week 6.  No pains or aches other than the usual from exercise or standing all day and being 60 :).  I do feel fatigued, but have been used to this anyway from progressing liver disease over past two years or so.  Also have diagnosis of lymphoma and received immunotherapy for it last year.  Overlap of blood cancer and liver disease take a toll.  The Sov/Oly is helping with liver enzymes and viral load.  Too soon to know how will play out, but very encouraged now.  I had not had Hep C tx before, so the positive results struck me as rather stunning almost from first week in.

Best to you on feeling stronger and getting great results from tx.

I started Sovaldi/Olysio June 06, 2014. Right before I started, my hep Drs. Office called and stated that Bruce Bacon went over the drug list and ask if I could cut the 10mg. of AMLODDIPINE IN HALF? Because it would interfere with one of the hep c drugs. I am blessed to have one of the best hep doctors on the planet. I'm sorry, I am a genotype 1a. I take AMLODDIPINE for HBP. I just wanted to share in case it may help some one. God Bless To All for SVR

Livelife777,
Must have been another fluke ....lasted like 3-4 days and it added another 1/2 BP of the pill to my daily regimen and all is back to normal now...and I don't need another 1/2 BP pill....
So I am good! Thanks for your concern....
all is going really well so far....
SVR is still at 15(have a very good lab) - that was 10 days ago ...took another test and hoping to be undetected...maybe I already am.....

Good luck to all of us!

Robin,
Don't let them put you on Interferon and ribavirin with either Sovalid and Olysio...just ask fro Sovaldi and Olysio...it is working very well.

If I were you I would come to NYC ...call this number at Mount Sinai and tell them you have hep c and you are treartment naive and are genotype 1b
212-241-0034;
do the blood work with them - this is mount sinai...you did not have to do the biopsy...they could have done a fibroscan test for you....You will only have to see the docotr 3-4 times in 3 months...you can drive or take a train from Boston or maye they will just recommend a good doctor for you that they are working with in your are... Good Luck!
