Oh YUCK!
Sounds horrible!
I've had corner of the mouth sores but nothing like what you describe. (yet).
Good luck with treating it.

I have severe mouth sores and was given Mycelex. Cleared it up in about 8 days. I use Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste for dry mouth syndrome. It's important to drink lots of water too. If the mouth gets too dry it changes the pH and all kinds of funky things grow.
She actually called in a steroid paste that she wants me to try.
This is the email I received:
It sounds like you may have stomatitis (mouth ulcers in mouth and throat) from treatment. This can be severe in rare cases with this therapy. As I eluded to in my last email, the viscous lidocaine is simply a numbing agent to allow you to eat and drink with less discomfort. This solution will not make the problem go away. There's a steroid paste I can prescribe that you put in your mouth at night or at times during the day when you won't be eating or drinking for a couple of hours. This can help with the inflammation and pain. It doesn't work immediately and may not take the problem away completely but it should improve your symptoms. The bottomline is that as long as you're still on treatment, you're at risk of this problem coming and going. Let's try the steroid paste.
Ok, how do I do that during the day when I am supposed to drink water like a fish?.........
